They both drifted into sleep, without Seungcheol knowing that, that will be the happiest day of his life.
-
"Why did you bring her with you?!" Yeoreum asked when they reached their own mansion. Mingyu dropped them off in the Choi's Mansion, but the three of them, Yeoreum, Miyeon and Hwiyoung commuted all the way here.
"What's the matter?" Hwiyoung sarcastically asked.
"They don't know I have any sister! Especially Seungcheol because he knows that I am Mr and Mrs Eun's daughter!" Yeoreum shouted in anger.
Hwiyoung faked a sympathy, "Oh, really? Did we ruined your plan?"
"Isn't it obvious, Hwiyoung? Dumbass!" Yeoreum shouted once again.
"You prioritized finding where the hell Seungcheol is than to take care of your own sister? You're so selfish!" Hwiyoung shouted at her. That was the very first time, Yeoreum guesses.
"You think I'm selfish?! Think, Hwiyoung! Think! I won't do this kind of shits if I'm selfish!" Yeoreum was about to walk away, when Hwiyoung's words hit her, "Yes, you're selfish. You're doing this because you'll get benefits from it. But I guess worrying and taking care of your sister is a burden for you." Hwiyoung walked away and went upstairs.
He's right. If this thing won't be beneficial for Yeoreum, she won't do this. She will never do this.
Yeoreum clenched her fist as she watches Hwiyoung to walk upstairs. That was a loud bang in her ears. "I need to get rid of him," she mumbled.
Hwiyoung entered Miyeon's room. "I heard you," Miyeon stated when Hwiyoung went in and closed the door of her room.
"I'm sorry if I dared to talk like that to your sister... It's just that, it seems like she doesn't care about you at all." Hwiyoung said and sat down on the edge of Miyeon's bed.
"You shouldn't have done it. I'm used to it," Miyeon said, that made Hwiyoung realized something. "So they've been treating you like this since the very beginning?" Hwiyoung asked, and Miyeon plastered a weak smile and nods.
"Ever since I was a child, they never treated me like I'm their own sister." Miyeon started to open up. Hwiyoung was all ears on her. "I grew up having both of them on my side, and they never treated me the way they treat each other." Miyeon added. Hwiyoung started to feel pity on her.
"They would team up to bully me and verbally abuse me. Saying that I'm useless. I tried so many times to sneak out and leave this place, but they caught me several times too, that's why they locked me up here."
"I never knew what is like to be outside. All I do is to stare at the stars through the window and admire them for being able to shine freely, unlike me who's locked up here."
"They would just give me small amount of food to eat. They never let me play with them. They never let me have toys. They never let me to enjoy the things that normal kids should experience."
"I grew up feeling like I didn't have a family."
"I never felt I was loved." One sentence holds millions of emotions. Hwiyoung held her hand and caressed it, making her sure that everything's gonna be alright.
He never knew that this girl, who had been quiet, yet cheerful when he met, had this kind of things in her mind. That this girl, experienced maybe the saddest thing about growing up.
"Not until you came. I felt that I was being cared on. I felt that someone's there for me. That someone's worried about me."
"I thought I was numb for everything, not until you came. I felt the most impossible feeling for me to feel. I learned how to love because of you." Miyeon said those directly, as she looks at Hwiyoung's eyes. Hwiyoung's chest started to thump.
