Meg slipped the dress on. The red looked stunning against her blonde hair and lightly tanned skin, the red fabric hitting every dip and curve of her body. I could make out the muscles on her stomach through the bodice.
Meg and I walked out of the wardrobe, I saw Elijah's eyes flick up as he looked at us, his eyes remaining slightly longer than normal on Meg.
"Let's go, I want to get in before the crowd." Meg said, desperate to leave. Elijah stood, he was wearing beige trousers with a white button up shirt, the sleeves rolled up to his elbow. "You might want to leave the book here, Elijah, i'm not sure how the bouncers would feel when they find your book with a naked couple on the cover." I taunted, Meg laughed as Elijah, sighed, kissed the book cover and put it back on the shelf.
"Is Hunter coming with us?" I asked, trying to sound uninterested. "I'll ask." Elijah volunteered, he crossed over and stopped in-front of Hunters door, giving a loud knock, no sound came from within.
"Maybe he's just tired." I shrugged, trying to hide my disappointment.
"I haven't seen him in five months and he wants to be a sook and hide in his room, i'm not having this." Meg stormed up and opened his door, his bedroom was empty again. I looked on the floor and saw my note was gone. For some reason, I didn't like the idea of him seeing it. If he was in a good mood, he would have come and seen us straight away.
"I guess he's left already?" Meg said, closing the door.
She linked her arm through mine and Elijah's and we set off, heading outside. The main hall was teeming with people our age, about fifteen people, mainly guys, but there were a few other girls, all similarly dressed. They heading through the large front door, walking outside and finding their way into a limousine or car.
"Just how many people are coming to this party?" I asked Meg.
"Everyone that is around our age that has associations to the mafia, and a few random groups." Meg replied.
We made our way into a limousine, the one I first came here in as I looked at the number plate. It took a while to get out of the gates, but afterwards we were on our way. Meg found a bottle of vodka and stored it in her purse after taking a few sips.
"The alcohol there is free Meg." Elijah reminded her.
Meg raised a brow, "who said this was for the party." We all laughed.
Being with Meg and Elijah reminded me so much of Liv and Ethan. I missed them, it's been over a month since I last saw them and i've rarely been in contact with them in fear i might expose something about where I am. I would have to plan to meet up with them both as soon as it was safe.
In half an hour we were stepping out of the limousine onto the crowded street in front a function centre. There were bouncers out front checking ID. I started panicking when I remembered I was still only seventeen.
"I'm underage, is that a problem." I asked Meg. "Don't worry, your last name will get you in." She reassured.
Sure enough, when I passed the large man my ID he simply waved me in.
My eyes widened as I took in the large open room. At the front there was a live band, dangling from the ceiling were women wearing the least amount of clothes possible, hung from hoops and silk. Purple and blue lights flashed through the room, illuminating the smoke spreading on the floor.
A large bar sat on one side serving hundreds of different types of drinks. I looked on the other side and there was a mezzanine laying above countless seats, I spied on the mezzanine, couches which seemed to be for private matters if you managed to find a lucky stranger in the crowd.
