Chapter 54: Choi Seungcheol's Birthday

"H-Happy birthday... H-Hyung," Beomgyu greeted, but to his surprise, Seungcheol smiled a bit at him, so he smiled too! But a big one!

"I'm gonna rest in my room for a while," Seungcheol said and disappeared from their sight.

Cheolhan went to the backyard, and then, that's when Jeongyeon found a chance to talk to Mingyu, Wonwoo and Hansol.

"How's Seungcheol?" She sincerely asked the three. Mingyu and Hansol doesn't know what to react, so Wonwoo was the one who answered, "A bit fine, Mrs Choi. He's still devastated with the sudden happenings. But I'm sure he will enjoy his day today," Wonwoo replied politely, and smiled a bit.

"I hope so too. I even booked the most famous catering for his day today. Cheolhan also put a lot of effort with these," Jeongyeon smiled a bit looking at her husband.

"I know our start isn't good, but I'm still hoping that he will accept me as his step-mother." Jeongyeon sheds a tear but immediately wipes it off because she's in front of these three guys.

"Enjoy for a while. I'm just gonna help Cheolhan," Jeongyeon excused herself and the three were left alone, stunned and shocked.

"She's not bad as we thought, really," Hansol said and sat down on the couch in the living room.

"Beomgyu and Seungcheol talked last time while we're on our way back. Beomgyu said that his Mom doesn't have any idea about Aunt Seunghee's existence as Uncle Choi's wife, and they argued." Mingyu spilled the tea on Hansol. Since Hansol is in the other van, he didn't know.

"But I hope they can find their ways to reconcile and forgive each other for everything that happened," Wonwoo said, and looked up to the maid that gave them juice to drink. Ordered by Jeongyeon.

"Thanks," Wonwoo said and drank the juice.

"What do you think will happen later?" Mingyu wondered. They really thought that Jeonghan will pull off a surprise. They're considering that as a number one possibility why Jeonghan disappeared for five days, including today.

"I don't know. Let's just wait and see," Hansol replied to what Mingyu just said.

Anyways, they enjoyed the company that Seungcheol's family gave and even helped them to decorate the backyard. They had a lot of fun doing it.

Little did they know that Seungcheol's watching them from the balcony. Everyone seems so happy today. He's a bit happy too, but there's still something missing for him to be happy completely.

Jeonghan.

He sighed with the thought that Jeonghan isn't here to celebrate his birthday with him. "Hyung?" Seungcheol turns around to see Beomgyu holding a present. Probably for him.

"I wanted to give you this early," Beomgyu handed him a small birthday present. "Check it out. I hope you'll like it," Beomgyu said and smiled before leaving him at the balcony.

There's a chair in the balcony, so Seungcheol decided to sat there and open Beomgyu's present. He carefully unwrapped it, and then when he opened it, he immediately teared up.

It was a picture of him and Jeonghan hugging each other in front of the sunset in Jeju, framed.

Then, inside the box too, he saw a bunch of stolen photos of him and Jeonghan in Jeju, and also a card from Beomgyu of course, he read it and it made him cry even more.

Did you like my present? I don't have any present in my mind to give to you actually and I was so worried about it, but when Mingyu hyung asked me to join you in Jeju, I was so happy! And then, until that day, I'm thinking what kind of present should I give you, because I want us to be in good terms already. But then, on our stay, I decided to just give you this small gift. I decided to took some photos of you and Jeonghan-ssi together without you guys knowing. Then on our last day, I saw you guys hugging each other on the sand. Well everyone saw you to be honest. I decided to take a picture and it turns out good and decided to give it to you as a present.
