He'd been down in the dumps. He saw you on his timeline again and impulsively posted this on his spam:

With the caption: it's been like a year bro
The video just so happened to show up on your timeline and you knew who it was about. It didn't take a genius to do the math.
You didn't realize he felt this way and wanted to reach out to him because you missed him too.
But you didn't have to because you were friends with Mia Hayward who invited you over to have dinner at a restaurant with the group.
She knew about your history with Vinnie and that's part of the reason as to why she invited you. Maybe he'd feel better if he saw you.
Everyone was going to the place on there own, which meant everyone was arriving at different times.
You got there before Vinnie and sat next to Mia with Thomas beside her.
You just so happened to glance by the door and that's when Vinnie came in. The second you made eye contact, his lips parted with surprise. He had no idea you'd be here. He stopped in his tracks and Jack nearly stumbled behind him as a result.
Mia noticed both of y'all tense up and immediately felt bad. She had good intentions and never meant to cause any discomfort in the room. But that was kind of inevitable.
"Will you be okay?" Mia asked.
"Sure." You muttered and lowered your gaze.
He came to the table with Jack and Jett behind him and took the seat opposite of you.
Throughout dinner y'all would take quick glances at each other but trying to start a conversation seemed awkward.
"Hey," you whispered to Mia. "I'm gonna go to the bathroom."
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah just give me a sec."
You pushed the chair back, grabbed your purse, and headed for the bathroom in the back. You could feel Vinnie's eyes on you.
Once there, you locked yourself in a stall quickly before anyone inside could see you cry.
You loved Vinnie, you truly did.
After being by yourself for a few minutes, you came out the stall and got yourself together. Fixing your hair and wiping your face.
When you left, you came to a halt as Vinnie was leaning up against the adjacent wall. He'd was concerned for you as you'd been in there for a while.
"I came to check on you. You okay?"
You just nodded and walked closer to him.
"What about you? You okay?" You asked him.
Was he okay? Had you found someone else? Was he better than him?
Vinnie was prone to exaggerate things.
"Yeah I'm good." He replied. "You look great by the way. So whatever your doing...it's working."
You blushed. "Thanks. You too." He did look good. His hair was longer and had more of his natural color and he had gained a lot of muscle from working out.
You two stood there for a second in silence. You were then about to walk away but Vinnie softly grabbed your arm to stop you and bring you back to him.
"I wanna talk, if that's okay with you. It's been a while."
"I'm sorry." You blurted out.
He looked at you, wanting you to elaborate.
"When I told you that we wouldn't work out, it was abrupt and I never apologized for it. I'm sorry."
"Did you mean it?"
"At the time, yeah I did. I had convinced myself that it was the right decision. I didn't realize how much it would have hurt the both of us."
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"Um...nothing." You shrugged. "Never mind."
He looked own at his feet. "I never stopped thinking about you, ya know. I always hoped you were doing things you loved and that you were around great people. Then it was like I couldn't get my mind off you."
"Really? Because you've been on my mind a lot recently too."
"Maybe something's bringing us to each other again." He joked. But he was right.
You couldn't argue with that. Plus, even though it wasn't a super long time since you'd seen each other, you felt that maybe this time it could be different. You definitely felt as if you matured in different ways and surely Vinnie did too. That time last year just wasn't right for you two.
He brought you in for a hug and you felt and overwhelming sense of peace. Something you hadn't felt in a while.
"If you love something, let it go. If it comes back, then it's yours. If not, then it never was."
