Ruby's Surveyor

Chapter 17

"Ow! That hurts!" Both teams look over as the laughing grows louder, mixed in with cries of pain from a rabbit Faunus girl.

The rabbit Faunus in question named Velvet Scarlentina can only grimace and try not to struggle as one of her big ears keeps getting pulled on by Cardin.

"Please-"

Vooomp!

"Stop...?" Velvet says confused as the pain stopped from her ears being pulled on, but she could still feel them being tugged on.

"What the...?" Cardin says as he sees Velvet covered in a light purple aura, what teams RWBY, JNPR, and CRDL (Cardinal) see is that not far from the table was Surveyor giving Velvet Ether.

The Servitor called out its classic metallic groan which Nora decided to translate.

"No fighting? But Velvet isn't fighting him." Nora said. "Hey! What the heck are you supposed to be?" Cardin says, with him and his team now focusing on the Servitor.

"Oh no!" Ruby had to say.

With Velvet now free she sees that this weird robot eye(?) thing was helping her. "What the...?"

"What is it some kinda robot?" Sky Lark had to ask.

"It's real funny looking robot if you ask me." Russel Thrush said.

"Whatever it is it's just a giant eye sore." Yang held back a laugh from what Dove Bronzewing said about Surveyor.

"Whatever it is doesn't matter, what does matter is that it's in my way." Cardin said as he neared the robot. "Move." He demanded.

But Surveyor would not move as Velvet stayed behind the Servitor, with an aura of Ether around her and her food as she was still holding her food tray.

"Tsk, fine, be that way." Cardin said before pushing the Servitor aside with considerable force, without a way to stop him Surveyor was pushed back into a couple lunch tables, causing a bit of a ruckus.

"Hey! Pick on someone your own size you bully!" Ruby yelled out, standing from her seat, "Yeah! You leave him alone!" Yang added, standing as well, her eyes red.

When it concerned Team Cardinal they were fine with picking on the robot since it was just Ruby who was standing up for him, she was just a little girl to them.

But when they saw Yang with red eyes ready to pummel them...the team started to have second thoughts, after all she was quite formidable as a fighter and a brutal one when you anger her enough.

Soon enough with a sudden bout of courage the rest of both teams Juniper and Ruby stood tall with Yang and Ruby, ready to stand up with them.

So Cardin decided to do the best course of action he knew when the odds were stacked against. "Whatever...come on guys, it's not even worth it anymore." He said as he and his team walked off.

With him gone, Ruby rushed towards the Servitor with her goggles on, looking around his chassis for any damages. "Oh man, Surveyor are you ok? He didn't hurt you or anything did he?"

"Umm..." Velvet tried to say as she was still behind the Servitor, the Ether shield gone.

"Ok that's good, good, good, that's good too."

"Uhhh-"

"Heya! Nice to meet you! I'm Nora and this is Ren!" The cheery red-head said to Velvet, startling the Rabbit Faunus suddenly. "Hi." The quiet boy said.

"Oh! I'm Velvet, it's a pleasure to meet you."

"Hey there, I'm Blake, he didn't hurt you a lot did he?" Blake asked in concern for the Rabbit Faunus.
