11. No more fooling around

"Oppa!" Haruna ran into Beomgyu's arms as soon as she stepped foot into the apartment.

Beomgyu sighed as he lifted her up and placed a kiss on her head. "Did you miss me that much?"

Haruna nodded. "I can't leave oppa" she said innocently.

"Why's that?" Beomgyu asked curiously. "I also thought your favourite is Taehyun."

"You and Taehyun oppa are my favourites" Haruna reached out to Taehyun.

Taehyun laughed and took her from Beomgyu. He showered her with kisses too and hugged her tightly.

Beomgyu's phone rang again. However, this time the ID caller was unknown. Beomgyu stared at the screen. He wasn't sure if he should pick it up, especially during a time like this, but something in him made him take the call. He accepted it and put it to his ear.

"Leave your hiding space" a voice commanded from the other end of the call.

The phone slipped out of Beomgyu's hand and crashed onto the floor. Taehyun and Kai watched in horror when he stepped across the phone and proceeded to the door, attempting to leave. His eyes were hazy with a tint of blue flashing across them. Taehyun knew immediately that something was off and put Haruna down in an instant and rushed to him to stop him.

"Beomgyu! Snap out of it!" Taehyun grabbed his arm only to be pushed back by Beomgyu. Taehyun wrapped his arms around Beomgyu's waist and tried to pull him back while Kai pushed him from the front.

"Fuck... he's unbelievably strong" Taehyun gritted his teeth as he put all his strength into pulling Beomgyu. Beomgyu didn't budge. His eyes were still hazy blue and he even managed to overpower the two men.

"Ah!" Kai groaned in pain when Beomgyu used his telekinesis to throw him off to the side.

"Kai!" Taehyun looked over to him worriedly. He had wanted to help him but he couldn't let go of Beomgyu. "I'm going to knock you out if you don't snap out of it soon" Taehyun threatened but to no avail. Beomgyu was about to use his telekinesis to get rid of Taehyun too when he felt a tug at his pants. Both men looked down to see Haruna. She looked up to them and touched Beomgyu's hand.

"Oppa."

Beomgyu's eyes returned to normal once Haruna came into contact with him but this went unnoticed by Taehyun.

"H-" Before Beomgyu could even speak, a punch was thrown into his face, knocking him flat. He collapsed onto the carpeted floor with a thud.

"Haruna that was dangerous but great job in distracting him!" Taehyun exclaimed with delight and ruffled Haruna's hair. Haruna only grinned, happy to receive a praise.

"Ugh..." Kai stood up and rubbed his back.

"Are you alright, Kai?" Taehyun walked to him, leaving the unconscious Beomgyu on the floor.

"Yeah, I think I'm fine..." Kai moved and stretched his limbs to double check. "Maybe you should take care of hyung first." 

"Right..." Taehyun went back to Beomgyu and dragged him across the floor by pulling his arms.

"Maybe you should lift him up instead of dragging him like this" Kai pointed it out.

"He will be fine" Taehyun smiled and pulled Beomgyu up onto the sofa. Kai watched them, still amused by their dynamic. It was as if this had happened multiple times before.

The gravity of their situation soon hit them after they made sure Beomgyu was alright. They really needed to stop taking it so light heartedly. A heavy silence fell upon them as they sat down on the chairs in the living room with Haruna on Taehyun's lap and Beomgyu lying unconscious on the sofa.

"What was that..." Taehyun began.

"Inaxus with voice mind control" Kai looked at Taehyun. "There was one there. One that the Marusae reproduced."

"You're telling me that they're creating Inaxus unnaturally?"

"Yes. Sorry I forgot to mention about them yesterday..."

"No, it's fine. At least we know now..." Taehyun sighed and felt Haruna moving. Shit. They totally forgot about her. She didn't know anything Beomgyu and Kai being Inaxus. Maybe she didn't even know what an Inaxus was since she was still young. Taehyun clung onto that hope. But she clearly saw Beomgyu being controlled and using his telekinesis. How were they going to explain this to a four years old?

"Oppa... sleepy" Haruna looked up at Taehyun and rubbed her eyes drowsily. The blonde sighed in relief, he was glad that she didn't ask any questions regarding the incident. He took her to the only bedroom and tucked her in before returning to the living room. By the time he returned, Beomgyu was already awake, holding his head and grunting.

"Arggh... what happened?" He scrunched up his face and then flinched, feeling a stinging pain on his right cheek. "Wha... my right cheek hurts... wait, right cheek?" Beomgyu scanned the room and spotted Taehyun. Taehyun was left handed and he was only the one who was brave enough to even lay a finger on him. He sighed and fell back onto the sofa without saying anything. Kai was standing awkwardly, not knowing what to do. He glanced up from Beomgyu to Taehyun.

"I'm sorry... I had to do it" Taehyun walked towards them and apologised.

"Yeah it's fine, I know" Beomgyu mumbled and shut his eyes, recalling what had happened. He remembered his body moving on its own and he lost the ability to think for himself. It wasn't a pleasant experience and he shivered at the memory. He shouldn't have picked up the call. He knew that, but he still did it. He then thought about how he managed to snap out of it. He frowned. It wasn't Taehyun. It was before Taehyun had knocked him out. He was sure but he couldn't put his finger around it. What happened before the punch? He couldn't quite remember. Something must had neutralised or repelled the mind control. He just didn't know what it was. Beomgyu suddenly felt coldness against his right cheek, taking him out of his thoughts.

He opened his eyes to find an ice pack pressed against his swollen cheek. It was Taehyun. He still looked apologetic for the punch, thinking that the older was upset about it. Beomgyu smiled up to him.

"Thanks, I'm really alright though" he said as he removed Taehyun's hand and replaced it with his own before sitting back up.

"Kai, I'm sorry for hurting you" Beomgyu turned to the youngest.

"No no it was fine, I know it wasn't intentional" Kai quickly waved it away and smiled. "Though you were unexpectedly strong." He frowned.

Beomgyu chuckled at that but his expressions soon turned serious. "I guess we can't play any games now. I want us to be safe, especially with Haruna with us now. We should stay together and really come up with a proper plan." A proper plan. A plan that could ensure Taehyun, Kai and Haruna's safety. A plan that could compromise with the one that RM made. A plan that he could leave without the others knowing. A plan that he could carry out another plan.
