?Chapter 37: Demanitus's Tomb?

You understood that reference.

"Through the fear! Through the pain." Rapunzel pulled a sword out from a dartboard, "And as one, we will rise, marching tall! Through it all!" The girl frowned, looking out at the people, "It's not gonna be easy, but it's our only option." She held the sword up, "Who's with me?!" You were surprised by the lack of volunteers.

Suddenly Eugene stood up on one of the bar tables, "Time now to stand!"

"Let's save our home and take it back!" Your father sang from next to you, you smiled knowing that you had people to fight side by side with.

Lance pushed Varian off the piano, "At your command!"

You heard various of the thugs saying that they would join. You glanced over and spotted Varian hopping onto Fidella, the boy was holding a tambourine, "Onward we ride! Who knows if we will make it back!"

"We're at your side!" You sang, looking at Rapunzel.

Rapunzel hopped off a barrel, "Together, we'll come through!"

"Through the strife! Through the fray!" You heard all the thugs sing, your eyebrows furrowed, what did fray mean?"

Rapunzel and Eugene were dancing in the middle of the room, "We can't hold back in this time of need!"

"We all must heed the call!" Eugene responded.

You spotted Monty and Ulf putting out mugs filled with... it looked like a liquid? You were unsure what it was, "Through the dark! Through the day!" They all held up their mugs and cheered.

"And as one, we will rise, marching tall!" Eugene and Rapunzel pulled people to the middle of the room to dance, "Through it all!" Everyone around the room began cheering, singing about how they would take back their kingdom. Everybody shouted before running out of the tavern, you just stood in shock about how well coordinated that song was.

You turned and spotted Varian sitting at a barstool with a mug in his hand. You hopped up on the seat next to him and looked in the mug.

"What is it?" You asked.

The boy took a sip before setting it down, "Milk." You grimaced, you had never been a big fan of milk, "You think we can actually do it?" Varian asked, sending you a concerned look, "Take back the kingdom- I mean."

"Yeah," You nodded, "It's not the first time we've had to take it back. "You paused, looking at Varian, "No offense."

The boy shrugged, "None taken." Varian then pulled out a book from his satchel, "Demanitus left some good information for us."

"-I don't think any of us are up to fighting an ancient demon creature." You heard Eugene say from the doorway.

Varian took this moment to butt in, "Neither was Lord Demanitus." The boy said before taking a swig of the drink in front of him dramatically, "When I was researching the scroll, I found out Lord Demanitus banished Zhan Tiri to some kind of netherworld." He let out a disappointed sigh, "But the machine he used to do it was dismantled centuries ago."

You glanced over, planning your hand on his arm, "Can you rebuild it?"

"If I had the plans." Varian looked down at the book, "But Demanitus took his only blueprints to his tomb."

Eugene laughed sarcastically, "Haha, let me guess, the tomb is thousands of years old, and no one knows where it is."

"Well-" Rapunzel started, "I wouldn't say no one knows..."
