Chapter 4

"You are baby," Thomas says smiling at her before playfully biting her neck, making her giggle and squirm on his lap.

"You guys are sickening cute sometimes, I want to throw up," I say with a fake sweet voice whilst looking at them.

"Don't worry mate, this is going to be you one day," Thomas says smirking at me.

"Oh, fuck no," I say shaking my head.

"Fuck you all," Amelia says.

"Ugh, eww," Liam says.

"No thank you," I say.

"I mean I'm not into girls sorry," Zoe says shrugging.

Zoe's been our friend since year 9. I wouldn't say that I and her are really close, I don't really get her sometimes maybe that's why but she's an okay girl. She gets relatively easily jealous and acts a bit immature sometimes but other times she's fun and down to earth. If you argue with her she'll probably be yelling at you the whole time though. Zoe has red hair, hazel eyes, a straight nose and thin lips.

"Excuse me, baby?" Thomas says, raising an eyebrow at her.

"I can't say anything without someone switching it on me, it's unfair," she cries out leaning back on Thomas's arms.

"Come on, you're too easy to pick on, darling," Claire says flipping her hair.

"Speaks the easiest girl to pick on," Liam says before gulping down his vodka.

"You shut up!" She says.

"Oh what? Did he hit a sore spot?" Aaron says, trying to keep in his laughing.

Claire just raises a middle finger at them and apparently, that's all Aaron needed to burst out laughing.

I still don't know what to think about her.

Claire was introduced to our group only just a year ago through Zoe who she met at her student accommodation. If I'm being honest I think she was nicer in the beginning but maybe she's just now getting comfortable around us and being more herself. She's a confident, blunt and a bit arrogant girl. She has black hair, green eyes, a button nose and full lips.

"Have you guys moved in together yet?" I ask Thomas and Amelia.

"Not yet, next week," Thomas says as Liam's phone rings.

He doesn't answer it, instead, he groans and declines the call with a grimace.

"Who was that?" I ask, leaning my elbows on the table.

"My girl," he says, sliding his phone in his pocket.

"So, why didn't you answer? Did something happen again?" Thomas asks this time.

"Yeah, how could you possibly know," Liam says sarcastically.

"What was it about this time?" I ask, leaning back on my chair, getting more comfortable.

"It was some stupid shit again, like, okay, let me ask you guys this," he starts saying.

"We're all ears," Amelia says.

"Right, is it bad to like another girl's Instagram post?" He asks having our full attention.

"What? Of course not, I bet she even does that as well," Aaron says.

"Yeah, like there's a difference between just liking someone's pictures and actively going after them," Miles speaks for like the second time tonight.

"Exactly," Aaron says pointing at Miles.

"I'm not sure what to tell you. I mean, on one hand, it's just a like nothing more, on the other hand, maybe this makes her feel insecure which in that case you need to talk it out with her and help her with that as much as you can," Thomas says biting his lip.

"For me, I think I would understand if she had a problem with you liking a half-naked or sexy picture of a random girl that lives here, you know?" I say raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah, I get what you mean, man," he says.

"I'm going to need a bit more details here to be able to help you," Amelia says, leaning forward on her elbows.

"It was a random girl's picture that I follow from around town," he says, tapping his fingers on the wooden table.

"Yeah, but what was she wearing?" Zoe asks, swirling the straw around her cocktail.

"She was wearing a low cut dress, I think," he says shrugging.

"Then I can see why she got upset, you dumbass," Zoe says.

"Boys I swear," she whispers.

"What Zoe means is that it seems like it was a more provocative picture and of someone that lives here, so obviously she would get upset especially if she has insecurities about her body," Amelia explains.

"But it was just a like, you can find other people pretty without being attracted to them, it doesn't mean anything," Claire jumps into the conversation.

"Would she have a problem if it was a celebrities picture?" Liam asks Amelia.

"I don't know her to know that but I think it wouldn't be such a big issue," she says.

"So, you girls don't have a problem when we're liking those types of pictures of celebrities so, why do you have a problem if it's of a random girl living around town?" Liam asks, running his hand through his hair.

"Because genius, you can't possibly get involved with a celebrity but you can definitely get with that said random girl living across the street," Amelia says, raising her voice a bit.

"Oh my lord, what are you boys not getting?" Zoe asks.

"Okay, okay I see. I get it now," Liam mumbles.

"I hope you do, is not astrophysics," Zoe says before taking a sip of her drink.

"Yeah and ignoring her isn't going to help at all," Amelia says.

"I know but I don't want to ruin the whole mood now," he says.

"I'll talk to her later or tomorrow morning," he adds.

This isn't how I expected the night to go.
