"I'm beat," Tony told his AI assistant.
"Sir, the mark seven is not ready for deployment."
"Then skip the spinning rings, we're on the clock."
Tony landed and walked towards the penthouse, the system disassembling his armor for him. Loki entered as well.
Tony went behind the bar, while Loki approached.
"Please tell me you're going to appeal to my humanity," Loki said.
"Uh, actually, I'm planning to threaten you."
"You should have left your armor on for that."
"Yeah, it's seen a bit of mileage. You've got the uh, blue stick of destiny. Would you like a drink?"
"Stalling me won't change anything."
"No, no, no-" Tony corrected, "threatening. No drink? You sure? I'm having one."
"The Chitauri are coming, nothing will change that. What have I to fear?"
"The Avengers. It's sort of what we call ourselves, like a team. 'Earth's Mightiest Heroes' type of thing."
"Yes, I've met them."
"Yeah, takes us a while to get any traction, I'll give you that one. But, let's do a head count here. Your brother, the demigod." Tony grabbed a pair of bracelets from the bar and moved towards Loki. "A super soldier, a living legend who kind of lives up to the legend; a man with breath-taking anger issues; my business rival who happens to have a thing for bats; a couple of master assassins, and you, big fella, you've managed to piss off every single one of them."
"That was the plan."
"Not a great plan. When they come, and they will, they'll come for you."
"I have an army."
"We have Hulk."
"Oh, I thought the beast had wandered off."
"Yeah, you're missing the point. There's no throne, there is no version of this where you come out on top. Maybe your army comes and maybe it's too much for us, but it's all on you. Cause if we can't protect the Earth, you can be damn sure we'll avenge it."
Loki raised his scepter and walked over. "How will your friends have time for me, when they're so busy fighting you?" He placed the tip of the scepter onto Tony's chest, the blade clinking against his arc reactor, which had no effect. "This usually works."
"Well, performance issues. You know?" Loki grabbed him by the throat and threw him across the room. "J.A.R.V.I.S, any time now."
Loki grabbed him again. "You will all fall before me."
"J.A.R.V.I.S. Deploy."
Loki threw Tony out of the window, sending him plummeting towards the ground. "DEPLOY!"
The mark seven suit rocketed out of the tower and caught up with Tony, locking onto his bracelets before opening and enveloping him inside. Tony flew back up to the window, looking down at Loki.
"And there's one more person you pissed off. His name's Phil."
He fired a blast at Loki, throwing him back. He looked up to see a blue beam of energy firing into the sky, opening a black wormhole in the blue sky.
"Right! Army."

Thor had arrived a moment later, fighting Loki alone. Meanwhile, the quinjet arrived, the Batmobile cabled to its underside.
Natasha spoke to Tony as the others prepared. "Stark, we're on your three heading northwest."
"What, did you stop for drive-thru?" Tony's voice came through. "Swing towards Park, I'm gonna lay 'me out for you."
Tony flew past the jet, as Natasha and Clint flew it, they fired at the incoming horde of Chitauri craft.
Loki, unfortunately, noticed.
He threw Thor to the floor, then used his scepter to blast one of the jet's engines, causing it to spin out.
"(Y/N)!" Clint shouted over the blaring alarms. "I'm going to have to drop the car before we crash!"
(Y/N) slipped the cowl on over his head. "Do it!"
Clint flipped two switches at the same time. One opened the back ramp, and one released the cables holding the Batmobile.
A parachute expanded on top of the car, and (Y/N) jumped out the back of the plane.
He glided into the canopy, shutting it and landing inside the Batmobile safely.
It came to the ground with a loud rumble, the parachute covering it. He heard the jet crash nearby, and drove the Batmobile out from under the parachute, skidding over and jumping out of the canopy as Steve, Nat, and Clint stepped out.
"We gotta get back up there," Steve said.
"Already on it."
(Y/N) pulled out his grapple gun and fired at the nearest building, climbing onto the roof, running and jumping towards Stark Tower.
