So, he tries to reassure him the best, honest way that he can.

"And I will, I promise. I just wanted to let you know about your friend's depleting condition. I'm sure my colleagues have already told you about making the decision to remove his life support and..."

"Like I said before, I ain't changing my mind." Bugs said, firmly.

"Well, that's the thing. You see....you are no longer required to make that kind of decision anymore. Your friend Daffy has already chosen that option for you." The doctor explained, wincing as if he was ready to hear a large voice yelling in his face.

Which was one of the many reasons why he decided to tell all of the visitors outside.

So that the noise wouldn't disturb the other guests.

"What?!" Bugs and Daffy said at once, both shocked and horrified.

"D...doc, there must be some sort of mistake. Daffy would never make that kind of choice." Bugs said frantically.

His heart now struggling to rip out of his chest.

Unaware, that Daffy was in the same predicament.

"I highly doubt it. I'm almost never wrong and as a Doctor, I can't give you even the slightest benefit of the doubt. That would be unethical of me." The doctor emphasized, candidly.

"Then tell me how was this even possible?" Bugs asked, his voice restrained and in pain as if he was going to break any moment.

"According to the record files, your friend a couple of years ago, had walked into this very hospital one day, claiming to be a new doctor transferee. Which meant that he was asked about the basic training and was given a hands-on first option to sign a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate Form). This meant that they can take his life support off anytime we believe that his brain waves are slowing or when his heart stops beating." The Doctor explained.

"I don't understand...." Bugs was going to say until he remember Daffy talking about it 2 years before the event took place.

They were back the house as Daffy tries to look presentable in a blue suit and tie that he had borrowed from Bugs while Bugs sat on the edge of his bed, amusedly watching his friend play pretend for his future father-in law.

"So what are you going to tell Tina's dad when he gets here?" Bugs asked, curiously.

"I'll tell him that I'm a lawyer." Daffy answered quick while picking up a few things.

"Why would you say that?" Bugs asked, confused.

"Because I already tried to be a doctor once but I got kicked out of the hospital after I almost killed a patient in surgery and I don't want to go through that again." Daffy said in a shiver, frightened by the sound of it all as Bugs looks over at him in a 'really?' look and simply shrugged his shoulders.

Believing at the time, that it wasn't even true.

Now back into the present, both Bugs and Daffy were looking back at the Doctor in a panic.

"I...I was only joking! I'm not a real doctor! Bugsy please tell him that it wasn't real." Daffy yelled out loud, ignoring the fact that they couldn't even hear him.

"You can't be serious! He's not a doctor! He's not even real a lawyer for all I know. He was just messing around like he does with everything else. He didn't know what he was reading before he wrote his name on the paper. You can't take his word for it, can you?" Bugs asked in a fret, his face paling up fast like a ghost.

"That may be so but regardless of who he is or what his occupation was, he signed it anyways. Everyone here can be legally obligated to fill out these kind of forms any given time. Your friend was only aware of this much quicker. So even if I can prove to the others that he was faking it. His signature will still say otherwise." The doctor said, sympathetically.

"Well is there anyone else that can override this? A parent or something?" Bugs asked, hoping that there's another way.

"I'm sorry but, because he is an adult, his rights are automatically established to only him and his own words. Even if it was possible, my colleagues weren't able to get ahold of them. We tried when he first got admitted here." The doctor informed.

Bugs then slowly looked down on the ground, he can feel tears prickling onto the corners of his eyes.

"How long....does he have left?" Bugs asked, in more obvious upsetting voice.

His ears dropped down to their lowest as if rain was being poured onto him.

"The doctors have set his arrangement to tomorrow morning at 11 AM. If you want, I'll let the nurses know that you're thinking of staying over more after visiting hours." The doctor suggested.

"Thanks for the offer Doc, but I... better take care of a few things first before I see him one final time. I can come back later on tonight, if that's alright?" Bugs asked, softly.

"Sure, sure. Take all the time you need. I'll just leave you to it then to settle your matters. And again, I am really sorry. So, hang in there okay?" The Doctor said as he pats the rabbit on the shoulder before heading back inside the hospital.

Leaving Bugs in the patio, alone and his heart in a hollow.

It didn't take long before his wobbling knees finally gave out on him as he dropped down to the floor, his tears were now running down his face with his arms wrapping around himself since no one was able to physically hold him in comfort.

Daffy, who was in a familiar deep sorrow, bends over and 'hugs' Bugs the best way he could.

It may not feel much to him, but it at least gave Bugs's a cool, numbing sensation to take some of the pain that he was experiencing away as the two continue mourn in what is believed to be a loss for them.
