12. Let's play a game

Taehyun smiled at her answer. "Okay, let's make different types of desserts together."

"I want lemon tart" Beomgyu raised his hand.

"Both you and Kai are helping too. Now shut up and get working." 

The three men and the small girl gathered at the cramped kitchen and started working on the desserts. Taehyun had decided to go for strawberry cheesecake, lemon tart and pretzels. Taehyun measured and prepped all the ingredients before letting the other three touch anything. Their only job was to add the ingredients and mix them together under Taehyun's instructions. They first made the pretzel dough, followed by the tart shell and cheesecake crust. While waiting for the dough and crust to set and the shell to bake, they made the fillings. Thankfully Beomgyu and Kai were being extra cautious and they managed to not mess things up. Haruna diligently followed after Taehyun's actions. Beomgyu decided to cook instant tteokbokki too since he wanted a proper meal. After at least three tiring hours, they were finally ready to have lunch. 

"Hyung, did you add extra lemon juice and zest? It's so sour" Kai's face scrunched up after taking a bite of the lemon tart.

"Yeah, I like sour things" Beomgyu said as he fed Haruna a small bite of lemon tart. Haruna's face puckered up at the sourness. He laughed loudly at her expression, enjoying himself. Taehyun pulled Haruna away from Beomgyu to protect her and fed her the sweet cheesecake to help with the sourness. The oldest continued to laugh. He watched them enjoy the food quietly and smiled to himself. He leaned to Kai and hugged him tightly suddenly. 

"Hyung what the-" 

"Thank you" Beomgyu smiled and looked at him.

"For what?" Kai asked, confused. 

"Well for taking care of Haruna" Beomgyu pulled away and laughed. 

"Okay..." Kai looked at him weirdly. Beomgyu smacked his back and went back to eating his food.

"Goodnight Haruna" Beomgyu hugged Haruna and kissed her forehead. 

"Goodnight Beomgyu oppa!" Haruna giggled and waved at him before leaving their apartment with Kai. 

Beomgyu turned to Taehyun and embraced him tightly. He buried his face into the crook of his neck. Taehyun wrapped his arms around his body and hugged back. They stayed in the position for a while before the older pulled away.

"Let's play a game" Beomgyu smiled and rubbed Taehyun's cheek softly.

"What game?"

"The one who falls asleep first loses. The one who's able to stay awake longer wins. Loser listens to winner." 

"Okay" Taehyun smirked. He was confident that he could win. 

The couple cuddled on bed once they had showered. Taehyun had gotten used to Beomgyu's physical affections and he had been reciprocating them. 

"Go to sleep already" Beomgyu whispered into his ear. 

"No, I'm going to win" Taehyun looked at him. 

Beomgyu smiled and leaned his forehead to his. "Sure." He looked into Taehyun's eyes, the two just enjoying each other's comfort. 

"I love you" Beomgyu said with a soft tone and connected their lips, kissing Taehyun tenderly. Taehyun's face flushed lightly as he returned the kiss. 

"I love you too."

Beomgyu was pleased. He caressed his cheek and looked at the younger lovingly. He felt like the happiest person in the whole universe at that moment. This motivated him even further. He could leave with no regrets now. He silently watched as Taehyun's eyelids started to droop, indicating that he was starting to feel sleepy. Truth to be told, Beomgyu had cheated. He had added dissolvable sleeping pills into Taehyun's drink during dinner. He also added them into Kai's drink too. He felt bad but he had to do it. Once he made sure that his lover had completely fallen asleep, he got up from the bed. He pulled out the drawer beside their bed and took out a revolver. He glanced back at the sleeping Taehyun and walked over to him. He gently brushed away his hair that covered up his forehead before placing a kiss on it.

"Goodnight Taehyun."

"Catch him!" A man shouted to his subordinates.

Beomgyu panted as he ran up an abandoned parking building. He had lured the Marusae there. He purposely showed himself to them when he left the apartment, knowing that the Marusae had already found his hiding place. He hid behind a pillar and waited. Even though he was supposed to be caught, he wanted to get rid as many of them as possible before getting caught. When he heard footsteps nearing, he used his telekinesis, lifting up abandoned and damaged cars and debris. 

"Let's play a game." Beomgyu said while still hiding behind the pillar. "If you manage to land a single hit on me, I will surrender to you." 

"Pfft, your power won't help you to escape us. We have everything that can capture you easily." Beomgyu could hear what sounded like the commander say. 

"Oh yeah? Then how come it took you forever to find me? And also it's already been eleven minutes since you started the chase." Beomgyu snickered. 

"Catch him with everything you have! We need him."

Beomgyu came out from the pillar and threw the controlled debris towards his pursuers, crushing them brutally. The Marusae might have underestimated him. He was able to kill and was willing to kill without hesitation. But he was just what the Marusae had wanted. If they could control him, they would be unstoppable. This excited the sick commander. He wanted Beomgyu badly.

The Inaxus pulled out his gun and shot, immediately gunning down another four men. The commander was thrilled. Beomgyu was perfect in his eyes. Beomgyu pointed the gun at him and pulled the trigger but the older man avoided the bullet easily with the help from the glasses that he was wearing. The glasses were not ordinary technology. The Marusae has implemented a special function; an AI that can predict danger and direct the owner away from it.

One man sneaked up from Beomgyu's side and tried to take him down but was quickly shut down by him. Beomgyu worked fast. He hid behind another pillar and loaded his revolver. He didn't want to use his power again because of the side effects that he would suffer from and he couldn't show his weakness to them. He peeked from his hiding space and quickly turned away again when he saw someone shooting at him. It was not a bullet. It was a dart with sedative. He had narrowly dodged it. He quietly counted the remaining men that he had to face. Five. He would need to surrender when it's down to three.

He took a deep breath before coming from behind the pillar and running straight into them. He shot the guy on his right but got tackled down onto the ground by the other. It was a shame that he couldn't kill two like he had planned but he believed that he had already done enough. He let go of his gun and raised his hands. He sighed as they cuffed him with restraints that nullify powers. Two men helped him up and brought him to the commander. The older man lifted Beomgyu's chin up, a sinister smile forming on his face.

"You have a pretty face too, Beomgyu."

A/n: Another shitty update! I will edit it when I have the time to. The plot will stay the same though. It will just be a change of words and phrases used I guess. Red light green light brings back memories of my childhood too. I binge watched squid game yesterday. I've always liked survival games like this :')
