1. Goblins And Their King

Start from the beginning

"Please bring him back." I don't care about what he said. I will help Sarah get Toby back in any way possible.

"Please." Sarah tried to plead again but it was not working for the Goblin King.

"Sarah... go back to your room...play with your toys and your costumes." He spoke with every step as he gets closer and closer to Sarah. His fists rest on either side of his hips, making his posture so strong and powerful.

The king has gotten way close to Sarah making a certain feeling kick in within me. My feet move on their own.

I'm now face-to-face with the Goblin King. This man still towers over me even though I happen to be two inches taller than the girl behind me. Her thin hands grip the back of my red overalls.

"Forget about the baby." Those words are for Sarah but his eyes... his eyes are looking right into mine. There is this gravitating pull deep within my stomach.

"I can't." The girl with green eyes and plenty of freckles behind me spoke with a stuffy tone. I can imagine tears swelling on the surface of those pretty eyes, waiting to slip down her cheeks.

"I've brought you a gift." The Goblin King stepped back with enthusiasm embedded in those heeled feet.

"What is it?" I feel Sarah move out from behind me to see this man have something appear out of thin air.

"It's a crystal." Not sure how he did it but the king summoned a rather large clear ball.

"Nothing more." It floated over his moving hand just perfectly.

If I were dumb my jaw would have dropped and drool would drip out the sides of my mouth just watching this magic trick.

"But if you turn it this way, look into it... it'll show you your dreams."

Of course, I have to admit these movements are captivating.

"But this is not a gift for an ordinary girl who takes care of a screaming baby." Then the moving crystal came to a halt and now rests in his long fingers.

Then he raised the crystal a little higher for me and Sarah to get a better view. All this does allow harsh anger to fill my bones. The audacity of this man to offer a clear ball after kidnapping Toby is beyond me.

"Do you want it?" The Goblin King asked her directly.

"Then forget the baby." His mythical eyebrows were raised ever so slightly. A smirk is plastered on his lips. Makes me want to just slap the crystal from his glove-covered hand.

"She can't." I didn't give Sarah time to answer since of course she still would refuse.

No matter how much she can't stand her little brother Toby, a crystal is not worth him being taken away forever. Even I know that, though there is no real family to call my own.

"It isn't that I don't appreciate what you're trying to do for me but I want my brother back. He must be so scared-"

"Sarah." He completely up her off.

A huff flew out my mouth as I tried to step toward him. I can't get very far now since Sarah latched her hands to my forearms. There must be an angered expression glowing on my face.

The king conjured a dark-colored snake from the clear ball making Sarah gasp at my side. Her grip is so tight I can't seem to break free of her.

"Don't defy me, Franklin." His face scrunched up in amusement.
