These Are The Days Of Our Lives - Maylor (platonic)

Start from the beginning

"He is here. Probably here for a reason. But why?" Brian wondered out loud.

"I think it's because he wanted to meet Olivia. He probably knew she was here the whole time." Roger said.

"She was also calling for him.." Brian added, feeling astonished.

"He did love kids.." Roger sighed, sitting down.

Eventually, Olivia pointed to the stairs, now hungry.

"Shall we go back upstairs, now? Yes?" Brian asked, getting nods in return.
-

The trio went into the kitchen, Brian preparing some lunch for them all. Sandwiches for him and Roger, and some blended vegetables for the baby. Roger didn't mind the sandwich being vegetarian.

The drummer was helping by getting the bottle of formula mixed and warmed up.

"Do you think she'll really be that hungry?"

-
"Yes, Roger. Even though she's got a bottle, it can't hurt to give her some fresh, organic veggies."

"Ta!" The baby grinned.

"At least she's polite." Roger laughed.
-

Roger got to eat his sandwich first, since he wasn't babysitting really, while Brian fed Olivia the mashed up vegetables, though he didn't mind.

"Here comes the aeroplane, yeee-oww!" Brian said in an overly happy voice.

Olivia loved this game, not being fussy about eating. He only had to do it when she wasn't taking bites, but she pretended to continuously not want a bite. Brian caught onto the game.

"Ollie, I'm a scientist, don't think much gets past me." She giggled in return, squealing when she got tickled.
-

After eating the whole little bowl of veggies, Roger offered to feed her the bottle since she was still hungry. Brian accepted, feeling hungry himself.

Olivia played with Roger's wedding ring with one hand, drinking the bottle with her other.

"This almost makes me want another kid," the man feeding the baby commented lovingly.
-

"I know, but with touring and everything, that'd be too much. And you'd probably have to adopt."

"Spoil sport."

"Maybe you should just become a babysitter then, Rog. Quit being a musician." He joked.

Roger merely rolled his eyes, but smiled down at the baby in his arms.

--
Not long after, everyone was done eating. And Brian settled down on his big bed, holding Olivia who had just been changed, and trying to get her calmed down to sleep.

"It's all right, Ollie. Just have a little kip, hmm?" Brian hummed, wondering why she wouldn't go to sleep.

"No, no no, no!"

"Why not? Are you in pain?"

-
Olivia whimpered and made unhappy noises, and Brian could see that teeth were poking through her gums.

"Oh, I see. Hey, Rog! Can you get the teething ring from the fridge, please?" He called from the bed, not too loud.

"Yeah, Bri! Gimme a sec!"

A few minutes later, Roger came back and handed the ring to the teething child, knowing that trick worked well.
-

"There you go, that's better." Brian said sweetly, smoothing her short blonde hair down.

Olivia chewed intensely on the toy, looking less upset as it soothed her inflamed gums.

But ten minutes later, Olivia was still awake. Brian couldn't figure out why. So he got up and paced the floor over and over again until he looked down and saw the sleeping girl.

Brian yawned, sitting back on his and Anita's bed and leaning against the pillows. Soon, both of them were asleep.
--

The guitarist was alarmed when he'd woken up and the child wasn't in his arms anymore. He looked around, then walked out of the bedroom as he heard the sound of little footsteps through the rooms.

"Ollie, come here! Where are you going?" He asked playfully, slowly chasing her through the house. He could chase her fast if he wanted; Brian had long legs, but he knew kids loved being 'faster' than their adults.

Olivia shouted and pointed to the piano in the hallway, not knowing what it was.

"You wanna know what that is? It's a piano that Freddie played on tour, it makes music." The taller man smiled.
-

Brian picked up Olivia, setting her on his lap as he sat down at the piano and played a little song with one hand, keeping the other on her stomach so she wouldn't fall over.

He was maybe being a bit protective, but it was a habit he'd gotten into; protect the toddler from falling and getting seriously hurt. It had been years since he held his own kids on his lap, but he did this with the grandkids too.

There was a cold feeling going through the room, yet it felt familiar. Brian could tell it was Freddie's presence.

Olivia paid attention to the feeling, listening to the spirit that was telling her and showing her how to play the piano.
-

Brian kept playing the chords, getting a sense that he should, and Olivia started to hit a few keys. What was surprising was that she wasn't banging on the instrument, it was playing along to Brian's chords.

"Is Freddie showing you how to play? That's really nice." Roger asked, sitting down and watching.

Brian played a little more, then stopped, now emotional. Olivia noticed him tearing up, and she gently gave him a hug and then nudged his arm like Freddie would.

Roger and Brian also didn't know that she was copying their friend.

"No cry, no cry." She soothed, seeing his eyes get more tears.
-

"I'm okay, Ollie. I just miss Freddie.." Brian said with a gentle expression on his face.

"I miss him too, think about him every day." Roger had a neutral look, yet it was sad.

Soon, the door opened and Anita came back inside, done from her job for the day.

"Hello, love. Hello Roger, and.. A baby?"
-

Brian wiped the tears away and stood up, going over and giving his wife a kiss on the cheek.

"You all right, honey?" Anita asked with concern.

"Yeah.. It's just been a beautiful day. Oh, and this is Olivia, Ollie for short." He replied.

Anita smiled and pinched Olivia's cheeks, finding her adorable.
-

"Just before you came in, she was playing piano with Fred. Earlier, I think she was talking to him." Roger mentioned.

"Really? That's interesting. Wish I was there." Anita said fondly, smiling as Brian hands the baby a rattle.

Olivia shook her rattle quickly, stopping when Roger was talking to her. She resumed, playing with rhythm, now with Roger's help.

Soon, Olivia's dad came back and they all said goodbye to the toddler, she said goodbye back. The father and daughter went home, and Roger left soon after.

"She kind of made me want another baby." The man sighed.
