It takes a one to know one.
"I'm glad everyone is fine," Sang-woo said.
"We will now announce the results of the second game," the lady captured the attention of the players and they all flickered their eyes towards the board in anticipation. The scoreboard began dwindling down. "Out of 187 players, 79 were eliminated."
The lights dimmed, causing everyone to then bring their attention to the large, glass piggy-bank. [Name] gulped as the cash began dropping down, her fingers twitched at the thought that she would've, could've.. should've been one of the eliminated players. Finally, the money stopped dropping.
"7.9-billion won has been accumulated in this round," the lights turned back on. "The prize money accumulated so far is 34.8-billion won."
[Name] sat up on her bed, fiddling around with her fingers as a way to distract her fragmented mind. She cautiously snuck glances in the direction of where the guards positioned themselves, constantly on edge that they'll find out she cheated the game thanks to a guard's help. She brought her fingers to her cheek and scratched near her jawline, a small sigh escaping past her lips as she attempts to push her intrusive thoughts to the back of her mind.
She glosses her eyes around the room, seeing Gi-hun, Number 001, and Ali talking in a small clique, Pickpocket sat on her bed and glanced around as well, and finally, she spotted Sang-woo sitting on his bed, too. Seemingly staring at nothing, lost in thought.
The girl pondered over going over there or not, but chose the former and stood up from her bed. She made her way over to his and sat on the edge of it, capturing his attention instantly as he gazed at her curiously.
"You knew, didn't you?" she turned her head to look at him. "The honeycomb game, you did know."
"I didn't," he blatantly stated as he slowly sat up straight. "I didn't know."
"You did," [Name] responded, glancing around to ensure no one could overhear their conversation. "It's over with, you don't have to be frightened to tell me. I know you did, but why did you hold back on us? You teamed up with us, yet you held back on something important."
"So?" he quirked one of his eyebrows upwards. "So what if I did? Just like you said, it's over. You don't need to cry over spilled milk."
"How will I know you don't cheat us out again?"
That question caused him to pause, taking it into consideration. He sighed. "You won't know. You have to remember that this is a game of survival-"
"We can survive if we work together," [Name] interrupted. "If you don't want to work with us, just say that. Don't string us along and attempt to play us like puppets," her glare towards him hardened before she softly exhaled, running a hand through her hair. "I won't tell them, but I just want to know if I can trust you or not. Just tell me the truth, are you trustworthy or do I need to keep my eye on you? I won't say anything to anyone if you answer me honestly."
Sang-woo took another moment to answer. "You can trust me. You can, I swear. I'm being honest."
[Name] bit her bottom lip, thoughtfully pondering over his words. Of course, they didn't solace her in the slightest, but she felt a little bit at ease at the fact that he had answered her- albeit, probably not truthfully, but he gave her faux reassurance and that put her thoughts to rest.
When he noticed her silence, he scooted closer. "You're smart, aren't you? Tactful and tenacious, you appear. The two of us could work together and get out of here, you know."
