Yes Alpha? Marlon replied.
Bring Liam Spencer and Mack Reyes, I held off calling Kieran.
You’re not calling Kieran? Chelsea asked, I shake my head, “It – something that hasn’t made much sense to me is these people,” I point to the list in front of me, “They escape, they don’t go straight to the public, if anything it takes effort on behalf of the Elders to continue hunting them.” I’m thinking its because they were the successful, she thought and I had to agree.
“Exactly. It went to the point where your father had to step in, what was so important that they continued to seek them out if not that they were important? Why not just let them settle when they realized that they weren’t going to bring any harm to their secret project? Unless they are the key, or something about them is special? Because there were more prisoners in these places right? Why not just cut their loses when they couldn’t get a hold-” we remained silent just waiting for when Marlon, Mack and Liam arrived outside my office.
Marlon I want to speak to Mack Reyes first, I told him when I knew they were all gathered outside in the waiting area of my office.
Once he entered, and was seated I took a moment to look at his physical features, buzz cut blonde hair, muscular and on his arm was the same tattoo that Kieran had, R-43.
“I knew it was only a matter of time before you guys brought me in here,” he said calmly, his brown eyes void of any emotion, his thoughts another matter.
“How did you all escape the facility?” images in his head showing us that in reality they didn’t so much as escape as Kieran released them.
“Some of us had privileges… based on how well you followed directions. Kieran had more rank and honestly we don’t know… one day he just opened our cells and said we needed to run. But he had no memory of anything – or where to go… we didn’t know where else to go, but I could remember Kieran talking about his family so we tracked them down. We – Frances DeAnna, Lynne, Alexis and Bryant – might have family of our own like he did but we couldn’t remember them…”
Chelsea was stiff but her frame was shaking, “So Kieran-”
“His time there was different-”
“You both have the same tattoos,” Chelsea pointed out.
“Yes, but that’s because we were the only ones that seemed to survive their experiments…” Mack countered.
“Which was?”
He shrugged, “I can’t tell you it’s not like they told us specifically what they were going to do to us. We were treated as animals, they didn’t speak to us, and they didn’t speak around us, just instructions. Stand. Sit down. Lay down. Stand up. Bend over. Left arm. Right arm. Open wide,” Mack says in an eerily robotic fashion.
