" I said to bring only men back here, didn't I?" Sangwoo scolds the two of them like a teacher, and Nari rolls her eyes.
" Girls are just as strong. Just be quiet." Nari bites, resting her chin on her hand as she crosses her legs.
" We put together a weak team. Who would want to join it?" Player 212 comes bouncing up to them, and Nari slams her head into her hand.
" Dear lord." The new girl snorts. She blocks out her annoying rambling and stares at a spot on the floor.
" I'll be way more help than any of these wimpy little girls." This catches her attention.
" Hey, why do you keep calling us that?" She very obviously looks the woman up and down. " You're not all that either." She rolls her eyes, turning away.
The timer goes off, and they're all told to stand in line for their teams.
The yellow doors open, revealing two large platforms.
" I would now like to welcome you all to the third game. Today's game is tug-of-war." Nari's throat closes up. Tug of war? She doesn't have much strength.
Team 1 and 7 went first, and went into the elevators to go into the platform. Team 7 seemed scared, and rightfully so.
When they were at the top, they were chained to the rope. Nari was looking down as it happened, but she could hear team seven's screams and team ones cheers. Bastards.
They were picked to go next, against a group full of men. Nari shivered, terrified.
Nari clutched herself as she stepped into the elevator, probably the most scared out of all of them.
" Come on, don't lose your spirit." 001 tried to keep moods high.
" Tug of war needs more than just raw strength." 196 scoffs.
" Well then, what's it about, huh? We just go out and speak to them?"
" All you need is a good strategy in tug of war, and combined with good teamwork, you'll be able to win when you are against stronger teams."
" Only one thing can help us now. It's the lord himself, I know it."
" You can barely stay standing old man, so shut up and keep all your strength, okay?" 196 was really starting to piss everyone off.
" You shut up. Let's hear what he has to say." Nari silenced the man.
" Okay, when I was young, we always liked tug of war. It's a game I know well. And back then, I would always win, even if there was a wrestler on the other team, and it seemed the odds were stacked against us. Listen closely, and I'll tell you how my team and I were able to win even when it seemed impossible."

" First off, having a good leader is important. Th person at the front keeps an eye on how the other team is performing, and the rest of the team focuses on the back of their leaders head and follows their lead. If the leader seems weak or looks like their spirit is beginning to falter, then the game is already over. At the end of the rope, you need someone strong and dependable, like the anchor of a ship. After that; it's all about how you arrange the rest of your team. If one player is on the right side of the rope, then the next one should always be on the lefty all the way down the rope."
" Both of your feet should be facing straight forward, and then, hold the rope in your armpits. That way, everyone can put in all their strength. Finally, and this is absolutely the most important thing, once the game begins, for the first ten seconds, you have to hold your ground." They all leaned back, almost enough to see the person behind them, to stand their ground. The other team faltered and got frustrated by this.
They caught a moment where the other team lost their rhythm, and started pulling with all their might, shouting and jumping.
The opposite team began to slip and started to panic.
" Shit! Shit!" Nari shouted, sweating. They were beginning to lose their rhythm.
" Get yourselves together and listen!" Sangwoo shouted.
" Let's try something. Take three steps up when I signal." He explained, panting.
" Up? What now? But that's the edge!" 212 cried.
" Look, just trust me and they'll fall!" Sangwoo yelled back.
" There's no way I'll do that!" She sobbed, and Nari huffed, sweating and frustrated.
" We might as well try!" Gi-hun shouted.
" No way! I can't do it!"
" Move up or you'll die!" Nari shouted, annoyed.
" On the count of three!" Sangwoo announced, all of them yelling.
" One!"
" Two!" Nari braced herself.
" Three!" They all yelled and stumbled three steps forward.
