"You can say no if you're not comfortable." He said.
"No! I mean, no, I'll go!" Yuri says, the panic evident on her tone. "What time is it?"
If he was going to be honest, he was really happy that she agreed. He would love to introduce Yuri to his parents. "Around six, I'll pick you up later!"
"Wait what am I going to wear?! Should I bring something? Do I have to worry about anything?" She worriedly asked Jay.
He snickers. "Calm down Yuri, you have nothing to worry about. Just wear something presentable and you don't have to bring anything but yourself."
"Alright, alright. Okay I'll leave now. See you later!" She said, dropping the call before Jay could even say his farewell.
Is she really so worried for their dinner?
Leaving his room, he approached his mother who was still busy admiring his picture frames. She had always loved Jay's collection of pictures. He loved displaying his pictures with the people that mattered to him because those pictures reminded him of all the happy memories he spent with them.
"Yuri said she'll come." Jay lets his mother know.
She smiled and nods. "I see you still have your picture with Jia displayed." She said, taking the frame and looking at it closely.
He nods. "She's still my best friend, I won't remove it just because I'm over her."
"Hm if your relationship with Yuri continues to grow deeper, you should ask for her opinion. It can be uncomfortable when the guy you like still has a picture frame of his first love." She said. "Best friends or not, Yuri may look at it in a different light."
His mother was right. Jay should ask her opinion about his friendship with Jia. If she was still friends with Wooyoung, it would definitely bother him to some extent because that man used to be someone to her. If Yuri was uncomfortable, he could always talk to Jia about the issue.
After about an hour, their driver came to pick his mother up. He also prepared for their upcoming dinner, he picked casual clothes that suited the restaurant they were going to eat at. He left around quarter to six to pick Yuri up. Upon arriving at the front of her building, he texted her he was already there.
It didn't take Yuri too long to exit the building wearing the prettiest dress. Her hair was styled and she was wearing heels. He remembered back then when he picked her up to attend a birthday party. He should've realized just by how much he stared at her that he already had a crush on her.
If he was asked what's the one thing Kim Yuri can't do, he'll answer 'looking bad' in a heartbeat.
"Am I really this lucky to have a girl as pretty as her?" He says as he watched her stride towards the car. Yuri got in the car and put away the mirror she was holding. "You look great."
"I'm nervous." She fans herself with her palms. "Are you sure I have nothing to worry about? Are there some topics I shouldn't mention? What should I say when I get there?" She panickily asks him.
He grabbed her hand to calm her down. "I already told you you don't have to worry about anything. She already likes you base on everything I told her, she just wants to meet you personally."
She frowns. "Fine. I'll try to minimize the worrying." She sighs, giving in. He smiled and lets go of her hand to drive. "So what did you tell her about me? I hope you weren't being a bit too honest."
"I'll leave that between me and my mother." He says, teasingly to which she replied by rolling her eyes. "Are you done unpacking?"
"Yup, after you called me I had to rush for a bit so my wardrobe isn't looking very good." She admits.
