He laughs. "You have so much clothes for someone who's not very fond of spending money."
"Most of them are gifts. Dohyun's mother owns a boutique, she used to send me and Dayeon clothes." She explained.
Arriving at the restaurant, Jay was informed that his parents was already there waiting for the two of them. Yuri had her hand on her chest as an attempt to calm herself down. He grabbed her other hand and smiled at her. She exhales and smiles back at him. They walked to the entrance together while holding hands, this was their first time holding hands while walking and he realized just how much their hands fit each other.
He approached his parents who was already staring at the two couple striding towards them. They both bowed to them as respect.
"You must be Yuri, hello." His mother smiles at the girl. Yuri shyly smiled back. "Take a seat the two of you."
"Your mother mentioned Yuri's the girl you're courting?" His dad says and Jay responded with a nod. "Do you go to the same university?"
"Yes." Yuri answered.
"Oh are you taking business as well?" His mom asked but she shook her head.
"I'm pursuing law." She says.
"That's great. If ever Jay finds himself in need of a lawyer in the future, he already has one." His father teases him which made Yuri laugh.
Yuri looks at Jay and back to his parents. "I do hope he doesn't become a client of mine in the future."
After ordering, his parent continued to talk to Yuri and he could see that she was starting to get comfortable. She was so tense earlier, it was a relief she was getting comfortable speaking with them.
"Jay personally asked your parents to court you? Really Jay you did that?" His mother's amused look made him blush.
He coughed. "It's no big deal really."
"I'm curious though, how did you two meet if you're in two separate courses?" His father asked which made them look at each other.
That question always threw them off guard because their first meeting wasn't the most ideal one. "We met through a mutual friend. You know Jaeyun, he's also taking the same course as hers." Jay responded with their usual lie.
"You're friends with Jaeyun? I forgot he's also pursuing law." His mother says. Yuri nods while smiling nervously.
"Yes, we have one class together." She said.
Their dinner ended successfully. Yuri and Jay were relieved that nothing bad happened and she and his parents got to know each other better. Yuri and his mother excused themselves to go to the restroom before they leave.
"She seems like a great person. And it looks like you like her very much." His father said, smiling proudly at his son.
"I do." Jay replied. "I'm glad you like her. She was very nervous before this dinner."
He chuckles. "It's normal. I remember your mother was also nervous when I introduced her to your grandparents." He says. "She seems to also genuinely like you since she listened intently to your mother's stories about you. You found yourself a keeper."
From afar, she could see Yuri walking towards them while laughing with his mother. He smiled. "I really did."
"Are you ready to go?" Yuri asked him and he nods. "It was nice dining with you. I look forward to a next time." She smiles at his parents.
"Maybe the next time we dine together, Jay will introduce you as his girlfriend now." Yuri blushed but she could only nod. "Alright, be careful on the ride home."
Yuri and Jay waved goodbye at them before taking their leave. As soon as she got inside the car, she lets out a sigh of relief. "That was so nerve wrecking. I was shaking at the beginning." She said, showing her hand.
"You did great. My parents loved you." He smiled proudly at her. "I have been meaning to talk to you about something." She looked at him and raised her eyebrow.
"What is it?"
"It's about Jia. Although I don't have feelings for her anymore, I'm still friends with her. So I want to ask you how you feel about my friendship with her." He says.
"Hm is that so? Do you still have feelings for her?" She asked.
"No." He answered.
"Do you still think about her?"
"No."
"Do you want to end your friendship with her?"
"No." He said in an instant that it caught him off guard.
She smirked at him and leaned on her seat. "Problem solved. I don't really mind if you continue your friendship with her. I understand she's your best friend and I don't want you to lose a friend because some silly girl is insecure of your first love."
"But I don't want to make you uncomfortable."
She shook her head and smiled. "I don't want to be the type of person that dictates who you're friends with. That'll only make me uncomfortable plus she seems like a nice person."
He smiled. "You're the best." She proudly grinned. "But are you really insecure of her?"
"I used to be insecure of her but after you confessed to me, I realized that I shouldn't be insecure when someone likes me despite seeing me in my most vulnerable."
Because your flaws makes you more beautiful than you already are.
Jay didn't have to think twice how he felt about Yuri, because right there he knew he was already in love with her.
