Start from the beginning

Gi-hun was placed in the front of the group, Sang-woo behind him. The team stands to their feet and picks up the rope. Ali stood in the very back.

"Then at the end of the rope, you'll need someone dependable at acting like the anchor of a ship."

The order of the team went Gi-hun, Sang-woo, Number 196, Sae-byeok, [Name], Number 240,
Mi-nyeo, Number 001, Number 244, and finally, Ali.

"How you place people is also important. One left one right. Alternate with the rope in the middle. Place both feet parallel to each other, and hold the rope in your armpit. That way, you can put in all of your strength."

As the workers situated the red flag in the center of the platforms, everyone took deep breaths and prepared themselves to begin pulling the rope.

"And lastly, this is the most important thing. When the game starts,"

The workers waved their flags to signal the manager to begin the game and he aims his gun in the air, a sharp bullet rippling through the air and indicating the beginning of the game. Instantly, the rope began getting yanked, but their team leaned back as far as they possibly could and locked their positions.

"for the first ten seconds, you just have to hold out. You should practically lie down. Push your lower abdomen up to the sky, and bend your head way back so that you can almost see the groin of the person behind you. It's almost impossible to get pulled in then."

Everyone strained as they struggled to keep their positions maintained, and the other team struggled to yank the rope away from them. [Name] clenched her teeth so hard she feared they would crack, but she squeezed her eyes shut and pulled as hard as she could.

"Hold out for just ten seconds like that. Then the opposing team will get flustered thinking, 'Why won't they even budge?' They believed they were much stronger. If you hold out for that long, there will come a moment when the opponents' rhythm slips."

The leader of the opposing team lost his footing, accidentally allowing his foot to slide. Gi-hun instantly caught sight of this. "PULL!" he shouted, yanking harshly onto the rope.

Their team immediately began heaving as they pulled fiercely, the red flag coming closer in their direction as it fully passed the center. They dragged the other team far, almost pulling them off of the platform fully.

"Get your shit together!" their leader shouted and they regained their bearings, gathering back their momentum and pulling [Name]'s team now. The red flag made its way back over to them as the two teams were pretty evenly matched now, but then [Name] felt herself beginning to get dragged towards the edge.

"Do something! God damn it!" Mi-nyeo screamed.

They began nearing the edge of the platform and [Name] felt her heart beating wildly, about to burst out of her chest.

"Pull yourselves together and listen up!" Sang-woo shouted. "When I give the sign, take three steps forward!"

"Are you unhinged?!" [Name] shrieked. "You're going to let us fall!"

"I won't let you fall!" Sang-woo called back.

"You're crazy!" Mi-nyeo yelled.
