The walk to the train station is thankfully only five minutes long, so we arrived just on time to catch our train.

The reason why I'm not driving us there is because it's a 2 hour and 5 minutes long journey and in case things didn't go well I wanted to be able to hold her.

Daisy holds my hand tightly whilst her head rests on my shoulder for the entire duration of our ride.

Once we arrived there, we took a ten-minute taxi drive to her dad's house. We got out, paid the taxi and for a few seconds, we just stood there looking at the bricked two-story house decorated with lively flowers and trees all around the front.

"Are you ready?" I ask, rubbing circles with my thumb on her hand as I watch her exhale.

"Yeah, ready," she says, offering me a smile.

We walk up to the big white door and I ring the doorbell, looking down at my shoes as I rub my thumb over her hand, waiting for the door to open.

My head snaps up as only a couple of seconds later someone opens the door, someone, that's not her dad but a woman.

She looks very elegant in her fitted midi maroon dress apart from her feet which are cosy inside her slippers.

"Hello, you must be Daisy, we've been eagerly waiting for you two," she says, looking very cheery and smiley towards Daisy that's too stunned to talk.

She moves aside and lets us walk inside their warm house.

"And what's your name honey? Sorry," she says, placing her hand on my shoulder as she closes the door behind us.

"I'm Theo nice to meet you, and you are?" I say, extending a hand towards her.

"I'm Grace, Joseph's finance it's nice to meet both of you," she says, shaking my hand before pointing towards the kitchen.

"Come on in food is ready, Joseph is waiting for us and my God you two look very nice," she says smiling wide.

"Thank you, you look lovely as well," Daisy says, smiling softly.

"Welcome to our house, you look, beautiful darling," her dad says, standing up from his seat and walking a bit towards us.

"Thank you," she says, squeezing my hand.

Her dad looks a bit unsure whether to hug her or not but decides against it which I think it's for the best, for now.

We all sit down around the table, putting food on our plates and thank God for his finance for making small conversations because otherwise, this would be awkward.

"So, how long have you two been together?" Daisy asks her first obvious question.

"We've been together for seven years," Grace says, glancing at him.

"And we've been engaged for one," he says, grabbing her hand.

They do look happy and in love.

"When are you planning on getting married?" She asks them.

"Maybe in a year or two, we haven't really started planning yet," she says, shrugging.

"Any kids?" I ask, knowing it's a bit of a sensitive spot for Daisy and she couldn't muster the courage to ask that herself.

"No, we don't want anymore," she says, shifting her gaze between me and Daisy.

"Any more?" I ask with an eyebrow raised.

"Well, we do consider Daisy as our child kind of so, apart from her we don't want any kids of our own," she clarifies, shocking both me and Daisy.

"Kind of?" I ask, what's that supposed to mean?
