y/n looked at her phone as soon as turn off the call. she didn't know why but an amusing smile twitched up in her face. she always felt kind of fine after talking to jake. sometimes she felt annoyed and bothered by communicating with such a big name now in the industry.

but she can't go on without a day calling him now. she still did not understand why.

"y/n, get back to work", the voice of her co-worker brought her back to the reality.

she started to work in no time.

after thirty minutes of working, faking smiles to the customers and smelling the salivating flavors of ice cream, she sighed as she rested in the table at the corner of the ice cream shop.

working in a famous name was hard as well. even though she needs to stand a lot of time, she wanted this. it made her happy to see people being cheered up by a magic of the delicious ice cream.

i wonder what jake is doing now, she thought as she looked over the almost empty shop for it was lunch time.

the ringing of the bell, a signal when somebody entering made her almost instantly stand up to go back in the counter. it was a boy, someone who was familiar, in fact.

he was blonde, someone from her country and tall for his age. well, she is too short to begin with.

niki looked over at her and came towards her with an awkward smile, "are you y/n?"

"y-yes?", she stammered a little, her eyes looking at the front of the shop, thinking he was there.

niki let out a small laugh, "relax, he's still at the lounge from our agency"

y/n's face fired at being caught looking for jake and then realization hit her.

"did he told you to come here?", she asked, not wanting to believe that jake had really asked their maknae to see her.

she wanted to run in embarassment now because she looks so normal in her get up now.

"are you scared that i might take a picture of you, noona?", niki asked with a smirk.

"he's not asking for it?"

the maknae of enhypen let out a laugh and she was feeling more embarassed now.

"no, he isn't asking for it until you allowed it. that hyung of mine is even too coward to go here himself", niki said, smiling again.

y/n let out a sigh of relief. she just knew that she wasn't ready to face jake yet, looking like she was at her lowest.

"what brings you here then?", she asked, trying to hide her relief.

"he had given me a task in exchange for a gift to sunoo hyung"

"a task?"

"to deliver this", he said, placing a really cute stuffed puppy on the counter and what it has on the name tag made y/n's heart beat a little faster.

"he sent this to me?"

"he bought that from a nearby store as soon as he heard you having a good day. he said so you can be reminded of him in your sad days, like your own comfort"

niki waved at her for the last time then walked out of the shop and y/n kept staring at stuffy puppy named jakey. there was a note as well.

she picked up the small note and read what it says in a beautiful handwriting.

don't be sad anymore, baby girl and i for sure one day would see you seeing it was all worth when you're already in your dream stage.

p.s i don't know if you like puppies but hope that it will remind you of me.

y/n's eyes were almost filled with tears at the note, that's just what she needed to hear today. this little gesture of jake had made her realize something. scary but she needed it.

the buzzing of her phone snapped her out of her thoughts and a smile instantly forms in her face when she saw who was calling.

"thank you"

"well, that's nice to hear that proves niki kept his words"

"thank you very much, i appreciate it and you were right"

"about what?"

"you were really my comfort"

[ beep ]

she smiled a little for disconnecting the call again and looked at the stuffed puppy for the second time.

what she realized is that, she really liked jake of enhypen.
