16. Video message

Taehyun had decided. Grabbing a few set of clothes from his closet and taking his laptop along with his other devices, he packed them into his backpack. He changed out of his nightwear and put on a grey hoodie with shorts before opening his drawer to grab his pistol and magazines. He slipped them into his holster that was hidden underneath his oversized hoodie and took his knife and dagger as well. He strapped them to his thigh. Taehyun felt like an impulsive teenager that was trying to run away from home. He took one last glance at his room before quietly opening the door and leaving.

Just as he closed the door behind him, he noticed Yeonjun leaving his room too. Their rooms were just a room apart. They both stared at each other for a while. Then they heard another door clicking open, revealing Kai and Haruna.

"What are you guys doing at 2.30am dressed like that?" The three men asked at the same time.

They blinked and looked at each other.

"Are we filming a teenage comedy movie or something?" Taehyun spoke in a whisper and sighed. They were all looking stupid and outrageous. "So what are you guys doing?"

"No, what are you doing? Taehyun." Yeonjun asked back.

"Running away from home" Taehyun answered without hesitation and with a straight face.

"No, but seriou-"

"Risking my life to find the jerk who lied and left us."

When Taehyun received no reaction from the other three, he raised an eyebrow at them. "So...?"

"Same." Kai and Yeonjun said at the same time.

"He's my best friend."
"He's my younger brother."

"Damn." Taehyun commented. "What kind of coincidence is this? This is just making all of us look like fools."

"No one's watching though."

Taehyun pointed to the security cameras at the corner of the hallway.

"Ah."

"Why's Haruna here." Taehyun asked Kai.

"She wants to come."

"No. She can't. You know very well what we are doing."

"I'm going oppa" Haruna finally talked, her tone filled with determination.

Taehyun was quite taken aback by her declaration. "Alright then..."

"So how are we going to leave and find him?" Kai asked.

"Seriously, did we all just decided to leave impulsively without a single plan?" Yeonjun's face scrunched up.

"We need to avoid the cameras and the guards. Mr Choi wouldn't be happy with us leaving though, especially you, caporegime Yeonjun hyung."

"What if Mr Choi is desperate to get Beomgyu hyung back too? And maybe he's also 'running away from home'." Kai joked.

"Please, he isn't one to do that. And he would want to keep all of us safe here." Taehyun rolled his eyes. "Anyways since we have Kai now, things will be easier. I have a plan."
