Jungkook woke up and found that Dahlia was playing with her elephant toy. Unable to tell the time of the day, he looked at his phone but it was still configured with the US time.
He groaned and walked up to the window to draw the curtains. The moment bright sunlight streamed into the room, both he and Dahlia squeaked like they were the progenies of Dracula, unable to survive in sunlight.
"It's too bright, Appa," Dahlia complained while covering her eyes.
"When did you get up?" Jungkook asked as he walked back to the bed and picked her.
"I woke up when I was hungry," Dahlia replied to her father, circling her arms around him as he started walking towards the bathroom.
"Why didn't you wake me up? I am so sorry, baby."
"Appa, nuuu..." The girl shook her head, "Dadda fed me steak. I slept after eating."
Jungkook's eyes squinted and he looked towards the room which was still locked. "How did he get in?"
"I don't know, I heard the knock and then it stopped, and then I heard it again, and again, and then Dadda came after a few minutes," Dahlia replied while counting on her fingertips, recollecting exactly how many times the door was knocked.
How could he just come inside the room without my permission? Jungkook thought, unwary that he had slept for 24 hours straight and Jimin was worried sick.
After showering Dahlia and taking shower himself, Jungkook walked out of his room and saw Mee working in the kitchen. A few men who were accompanying Jimin back in New York were walking around.
He ignored them and saw that all the ingredients were ready to be cooked and milk was blowing steam.
"Good morning, sir." Mee greeted the boy with a refreshing smile. "I have everything ready, but I didn't know what you and Dahlia like to eat in the morning, that's why I didn't start cooking. If you could tell me, I will have everything ready before you wake up from tomorrow."
Jungkook felt bad for being rude towards Mee the other day. After all, she wasn't at fault. "Let me help you." He replied and turned to Dahlia who was standing behind him, looking at Mee witb her big, oval eyes.
"Baby, you go sit in the room and I will make you pancakes," Jungkook asked the girl.
"But you said we eat Kimchi in breakfast in Korea," Dahlia asked with a confused face.
"You can eat anything you want," Jungkook smiled as he crouched down at the innocent question. "Do you want to eat Kimchi with rice?"
"Mmm." The girl nodded while pressing her lips into a thin line. Jungkook ruffled her hair and nudged her to go back to the room.
As the baby girl was skedaddling away, Jimin came out of his room and smiled brightly at her while stealing a quick glance at Jungkook. "Dahlia is up," He made grabby hands and the daughter silently climbed in them.
"Dadda, what do you eat for breakfast in Korea?" She asked.
"Hmm, let's see. I eat a lot of boiled eggs and I eat fruits and I drink a big glass of juice, to make me strong. Dahlia should eat it too." He walked in the kitchen while carrying her.
Jungkook subtly looked at Jimin with Dahlia in his arms, but didn't say anything. "But Dadda, I don't like eggs." She grimaced.
"Don't you want to be strong like your Appa?" Jimin asked and Jungkook's hands stopped as he intently started listening to what the man was saying.
"Appa is so strong, but he does not eat much and he gets sick," Dahlia complained and Jungkook's eyes suddenly widened as he lurked towards them to take her away, but, Jimin had something else in mind.
