Cause the girls down south like to shake that ass, they so fine I can't take it, ya got to freak it, ya got to shake it! Asha threw her arm up with tooted lips, walking in with a pop in her back to the music. The venue was packed to capacity but Sydnie was obviously prepared. There was plenty of seating and plenty of dance floor. Since Asha and her grandparents were ten minutes behind CP time people were already on the dance floor with glasses in their hands. Women were in long gowns either squatted down, popping their ass or bent over wobbling their ass. The men were in button downs and slacks encouraging the women or behind them catching what was being thrown.
Asha and her grandparents found the table specifically for Sydnie, her parents, and Ashton. Sydnie was standing next to the table, speaking with her husband when they got to it. She was clad in a one shoulder, royal blue gown with a high thigh slit. Once she seen her parents she quickly rushed to give them a hug. They wished her a happy birthday then found a chair to occupy as Sydnie moved on to Asha.
"Okaaaayy! You coming in here looking like me." Sydnie smiled, touching her daughter's hips.
"Happy birthday my beautiful queen." Asha hugged her mother tight, kissing her cheek. "You look incredible! 40 could never look better. I love it."
"Thank you, sweet pea."
"Let me get a video of you and this dress!" Asha went to the camera on her phone and recorded her mom from head to toe. When Sydnie smoothly spun to pose over her shoulder Asha squealed at the dress being backless. "Untouchable! Fine as wine and ever so divine! Don't play with my mama."
"You're a mess." Sydnie laughed and fanned her hand. "Your crew is over there ready to cut up. I think they were just waiting on you to show up."
Asha turned to the table her mother pointed at and saw Jema being whispered to by Drew. All she could do was smile and shake her head. Drew had been after Jema for the last few years and now that it was a known fact she was single, she knew he wasn't going to let up on her. He could care less about attending school on the west coast while she was still on the east coast. He just wanted Jema all to himself.
"Hey Asha." Ashton gave her a small wave. She gave him a fake smile and made sure it looked fake.
She made her way over across the venue taking in everyone at the table; Jema, Drew, Victoria, Bahzeek, Blanca, and Sanchez. They looked her way as she grew closer to their table. The girls cheered, happy she had finally made it. Sanchez scooted his chair back and stood to his feet with his teeth sunk in his bottom lip. While he admired the way she looked in her dress, she was trying not to drool over him in perfectly tailored slacks, and a button down with a few open buttons. He even had his locs hanging down.
"My my my." she put her hand on her hip. "Who are you? And why don't I know your name yet?"
"I'm Sanchez, baby but you can call me Teddy."
"Mm, you gotta girlfriend Teddy?"
"Nah but I think I just met her. What's your name, gorgeous?"
"Whatever you want it to be." she smiled up at him, wrapping her arms around his neck as they hugged. He kissed her cheek. "We acting normal or playing it low?"
"Keep it low. I haven't talked to your parents."
"What do you have to talk to them for?" she frowned.
"C'mon on....you know why." he gave her a look.
"I don't but okay." she nodded and walked around him to greet everyone else. Jema jumped up from her seat and Asha gasped at her tight fitted black, strapless gown. "Bitch you look gooodd!"
