Part 45- A Life For A Life

"Yeah, well I need to give him this envelope. Here, you can just give it to him." He said as I grabbed the envelope.

"What is it about?" I asked getting even more curious.

"I have no idea. It was delivered to the institute and it has his name on it so I thought I'd pass by to give it. I'll be off then." He was about to leave when Aslan came in a sudden way.

"Wait, did you get the notification? Zahara's in trouble for some reason. I think she became their bait." Aslan said to Miran who seemed confused.

"What? There's no way...I should help then" he said.

Zahara is in danger?

"I'm coming with you." Aslan said grabbing his jacket and getting out.

"Wait...where?..." I was concerned.

"I'll be back, I promise. Zahara is in danger right now. We have to go and get her out of there. Don't wait for me for diner, okay?" he said before kissing my forehead.

"Wait dude, you know that it could be a red zone. Maybe they just want you to..." Miran sounded more concerned than me.

"I'll have to face them some day anyway. I got this don't worry." Aslan reassured him.

"Get inside, it's getting dark. Call me if anything." he slightly pushed me back in before closing the door and leaving.

Something is fishy. I have a bad feeling about this. I don't like this.

I made my way to the dining room with the envelope still in my hands. I was supposed to give it to him but he left in such a hurry. My curiosity is killing me. I really want to open it and see what is inside.

Ah whatever, he won't get mad for me opening it. I'll just have a quick look.

I opened it and took out the paper that was inside as I started reading it.

Ya Allah...there is no way.

Quickly, I grabbed my coat and put on my shoes before grabbing the car keys and making my way out.

Aslan must be in danger right now. I have to give him this right way.

I drove to the institute and about and hour and a half later, I had arrived there. I got inside and immediately collided with Athena.

"Adalina!"

"Athena!" we both exclaimed our names at the same time.

"What are you doing here?!" she asked concerned.

"Where is Aslan? We need to find him right away!" I told her.

"Why what happened?" she asked alerted.

"He will get killed if we don't find him now" I added.

"He left with Miran and Ahmed to find Zahara" she said.

"I know but look at this" I gave her the paper as she took a look at it closely.

"His dad...did this for him?" she asked shook.

"Yes, he is trying to save him and we have to help." I confirmed.

"You're right. Tonight, they must have planned Aslan's death. I was also confused as to how-"

She stopped talking as her phone rang. She immediately picked up.

"Zahara?!" she exclaimed.

"Okay, I'm taking over." she said ending the call.

"You were more than right. They will kill Aslan tonight. And this...might be the only way to stop it. Zahara was never in danger." she explained.

I was right. He got set up.
