thirty-one: ice-cream

"fuck it" I mutter running out and going to the elevator when it opens I don't see anyone there, she is not there. Nat looks at me from the couch where everyone is seated

"Tony your too late" It happened again, she gave me the chance to change her mind and I tried to be the better person and let her go but now when I realise... I am too late

"I don't know what you mean I came to join you guys obviously" I say walking over to the team and Sam who looks at me sadly

"BROTHER STARK SIT WITH US WE ARE GOING TO PLAY A GAME" Thor booms making me laugh

"what kind of Game?"

"never have I ever" Pietro says sadly. 

"alright who is first?"

"never have I ever tried Thor's Asgardian drink?" Wanda says looking at Sam  who laughs

Sam l/n, Steve, Bucky, Thor all drink making everyone laugh

"that was so embarrassing y/n just reached for a bottle and poured me a glass I did not expect that" he says laughing. I look away.

"never have I ever ...."

y/n POV:

I won at bowling obviously, I get very competitive but I have a feeling he let me win.

"So where are we going now?" I ask Joel who smiles taking my hand and pulling me to his car

"we are going to have dinner under the stars" he says making me smile

"well what are you waiting for I am starving" I say making us both laugh

"I have had fun so far y/n, even though beat me in bowling I am glad I could finally hangout with you besides serving you behind a bar" Joel says making me laugh and nod

"me too"

"you brought ice cream as well" I exclaim excitedly pulling out the tub of (ice cream flavor)

"of course I love ice cream, I hope you like this flavor though I just chose my favorite and hoped for the best" Joel said

"its my favorite actually" I say making him smile

"what did you think of dinner?" he asks we are still eating under the stars

"it was delicious thank you and the stars are beautiful" I say looking up at the night sky. he hums in agreement

"so Joel tell me about yourself, you have a cousin who is a SHIELD Agent why aren't you?" I ask

"never really thought about it, my cousin has his powers that makes him an valuable agent. But I just enjoy the simple life" he say I chuckle

"your life is not very simple you work at Avengers tower" I say he nods

"true, what about you though you LIVE at avengers tower" he says making me laugh

"well I normally just chill in the bar, or with the team in the lounges. Or I work with Tony in the lab" I say the last part sadly. He smiles

"well that all sounds fun, what is it like having your brother around" he asks changing the topic

"actually really fun, I have someone to joke around with and he has a far better memory then me so we talk all the time about our childhood" I say reminiscing over the memories he told me.

"ooo what was your favorite if you don't mind me asking" he says I shake my head

"when I was little my mother would always take me out for ice cream, with Sam, Nick as well. She would always get (ice cream flavor) which is partially why I like the flavor and ice cream so much, it reminds me of her" I say he takes my hand

"tell me about her"

"she was the nicest person I ever knew, she would always know exactly what to do in every situation" I laugh he smiles letting me talk

"she always got her way, even Nick was scared of disappointing her" I say laughing Joel laughs with me

"I have never spoken to you dad should I be worried" I give him a look

"probably but I would be there so he would not say anything too bad. Then again when-" I go to talk about Tony not even realizing I look at Joel who sighs 

"you know what lets dance" I say he looks at me confused, I pull him up standing with me

"come one we are under the stars why not dance?" I shrug he laughs

"you are ridiculous" he says we both laugh. He leans in and I start to lean forward. He presses his lips to mine in a sweet, and short kiss. My stomach flips. I blush when he pulls away smiling. 

"y/n will you be my girlfriend" he asks I am shocked, I then remember that Tony chose to let me walk out. So I nod my head

"yes I will be your girlfriend Joel" He smiles and pulls me in for another kiss, pulling away after he says

"come on I promised May to not have you out too late" I sigh 

"alright lets go"

Sam (l/n) POV

we are still in the lounge laughing and talking when I check the time,

"hey what time is y/n meant to be home?" I ask making the team go silent, Tony looks down sad. I smile sympathetically at him

"Ms l/n is pulling up now" Jarvis says we turn our attention to the front entrance where we here y/n laughing hand in hand with Joel as she walks in. I look at Tony's sad face making my heart break for him. 

Y/n notices we are here and drops her hand from Joel's. She sends a small wave before going to give Joel a hug goodbye but he has other ideas and pulls her in for a goodbye kiss. Clearly uncomfortable she pulls out of the kiss and smiles. When Joel leaves she walks over to us avoiding our gaze, especially Tony's

"how was your date y/n?" Steve says breaking the awkward silence

"it was very good thank you Steve, I won bowling like we all knew I would" she says making everyone laugh, and a small smile appear on Tony's face.

"that's good to hear did you know that f/n has once shoplifted" Nat says changing the subject. 

y/n laughs with f/n

"hell yes I did,  I helped her" she says making Steve frown and everyone else laugh

"no I am joking it was a dare she was given so I did it with her and we put the stolen lipstick in the girl who dared us's bag" y/n continued making f/n laugh

"I am going to go to bed, goodnight everyone" Tony gets up and leaves, y/n smile falls the room becomes silent

" I am going to go to bed too, night" y/n says and leaves 

"well that was awkward" other Sam says

"yeah I am still team Tony" Pepper says getting nods of agreement

"yeah but did you see how happy y/n was with Joel?" Wanda says

"but she instantly got awkward with him when she saw Tony" Bucky says

"Did you see Tony's face when he kissed her?" Bruce asks quietly we all nod

"do you think he is going to be alright?" Pietro asks

"we can only hope" f/n says.

"THEY ARE DESTINED TO BE TOGETHER" Thor booms making everyone burst out laughing
