Secrets

After the longest yet shortest class of all time, the bell rang, and Adrien got up from his seat to meet with (Y/N) to wake them up for the next class. (Y/N) flinched when he gently shook their shoulder, whispering something about how it was time for chemistry.

"Tell her I'm sick," (Y/N) groaned, closing their eyes again "better idea: Tell her I died and I'll never have to go into that stupid class ever again."

Adrien laughed, surprised by their comment "Counteroffer: I buy you coffee or whatever drink you want that'll wake you up if you come with me to class and sit through the whole thing." He smiled, (Y/N) could never figure out how people didn't know Adrien was Chat Noir, they both had the same energy when it came down to it.

"You drive a hard bargain, Agreste." (Y/N) said, getting up and heading to class, Adrien right next to them.

"It feels wrong hiding this from (Y/N), dont you think?" Rose said. Juleka had called Rose and told her to skip school with her and Luka. Juleka had finally done a little more detective work and Luka agreed Rose should know what was going on.

Luka nodded, looking sad as he sifted through articles and all of the notes Juleka took "Yeah, but we don't know where they are in the grieving process and this whole...thinking their parents were intentionally murdered thing could definitely make things worse"

Juleka nodded, "but Rose has a point. We have no idea what kind of stuff we're gonna find if we look deeper into this. It's a huge invasion of privacy."

"You're the one who started looking into it," Luka teased, trying to keep the atmosphere light. He set the notebook down, folding his hands in his lap "We agreed we'd only tell them if we found anything that had any real proof that something made the accident more than an accident."

Juleka nodded, worried about how this could effect Luka and his relationship with (Y/N). This was all uncharted territory and everything was speculation at his point. "I know, I'm still hanging onto this has something to do with hawkmoth or the miraculouses- miraculi? I don't know the plural for it- my point is why didn't ladybug's magic heal (Y/N) after the first attack? They were in the hospital for two weeks!"

Luka sighed "You have a point but what do we know about that stuff? We're not heroes, we don't know more than what the ladyblog posts and even that's not enough."

Rose looked between the two siblings, it was interesting seeing them be serious about something. They really were considering every possible angle this could possibly be looked at. Still, it felt wrong keeping secrets from (Y/N)

"That was so not worth the coffee," (Y/N) sighed as they stretched their arms, feeling their back crack slightly as the day finally ended "However, I will admit it was cool learning that the school had that."

Adrien smiled, grabbing (Y/N)'s bag for them as they headed out of class "See? You learned something today and I'd call that a raging success."

"It was, wasn't it?" (Y/N) said, having a newfound appreciation for the glass half full approach to things Adrien seemed to have. Adrien made sure (Y/N) was on the left side of him so they could grab the railing while they headed down the stairs. Adrien only gave (Y/N) their bag when they were sat in the car and (Y/N) waved with a smile as they pulled away.

"Going to Luka's again, (Y/N)" the driver asked

"If you don't mind," they said, adjusting their seatbelt.

(Y/N) just walked right on deck and rushed to Luka's room, not noticing how empty the houseboat was. They opened the door with a smile, pizza in hand before freezing at the sight before them.

"So this is where you guys were," (Y/N) said as they set the box down. They noticed the papers and articles strewn across the floor and picked one up, a frown on their face as they saw the picture of their parents "why do you have this?" .

Luka spoke up first "We just thought- well-"

"What did you think Luka, that you could print out articles about my very recently dead parents and take notes on it like it's a school project? Are you serious?" (Y/N) said, trying to keep their voice calm.

"There was something off about the accident, (Y/N)." Juleka said, trying to take the heat off of Luka "We think someone did something shady and-"

"It was an accident, that's what the cops and doctors told me and my family. Why the hell did you guys think doing this without telling me was a good idea?" (Y/N) said, their arms crossed. "You know what, I don't even want to know. I can barely keep it together as it is. Enjoy the pizza I'm going home" (Y/N) said, turning right back around and slamming the door shut behind them, leaving the group in stunned silence.

"I've never seen them get so angry before..." Rose said, her voice trailing off

Luka sat with his head hung low, nodding in agreement "maybe looking into it is a bad idea"

He picked up on the second ring, his voice badly hiding his surprise "(Y/N)? I thought you were going to Luka's to hang out."

"We were," (Y/N) sighed, they knew it was childish to react and storm off the way they did but there was no taking it back now. "You can totally say no but do you want to hang out?"

"Sure!" His voice answered "Same cafe?"

"Yup"

"Awesome, I'll be there in twenty." He replied

"Thanks, Agreste. Feel free to bring friends it'll be my treat."
