21. Start Again

Nana had returned home after some work and his eyes fell on Adi.

"Why are you dressed like Krishna, Alaknanda?" Nana asked her.

"Because a few days ago Sona became Kali. So, I became Krishna. Because Durga is Krishna's sister. Also, because, I wanted to be as awesome as Sona. She became Kali in such an amazing way and destroyed all of those evil people. Like Kali destroyed Shum and Nishum. I also wanted to be as amazing as Sona. So, I dressed up as Krishna."

I laughed at Adi's answered but Nana felt a bit worried.

"Alaknanda, I told you already. We will not speak about it." Nana told her. Adi huffed in a childish way and cross her arms. She turned away from Nana and puffed her cheeks.

"See... he doesn't love me." He complained to Nani. Nani chuckled.

"Now, where from did you draw that conclusion, smartest Alaknanda?" Nana asked rolling his eyes.

"Because you don't want me to be as amazing as her. You don't want her to make me that amazing as well. You gave her a whole different room. Now, you don't even want me to dress like Krishna. You can want her to be amazing like Kali but I cannot be amazing like Krishna?"

In a very typical Alaknanda style, she put her head on Nani's shoulder, puffing her cheeks, crossed her arms and refused to look at Nana. That was exactly how she used to throw a tantrum till she was 12 years old.

"I don't want her to harm you, silly. That is why she's there. She burnt down the entire house. Do you understand??" Nana asked.

"So? Hanuman burnt down all of Lanka too. Why? For Rama. Similarly, my Sona did it for me. They tried to hurt me..." Adi showed her injury. She had three stitches. "Of course, she will protect me. She is my sister. Durga also protected baby Krishna from Kansa by taking his place. The same way Sona also protected me from that Putana and Dr Jackal."

Nana sighed when he failed to explain to Adi.

"Prasuti, will you try to explain this stubborn child? I'm trying to protect her. What if Sonakshi bursts out into a fit of rage again? Last time somehow we reached on the right time and saved them both. What if I do not reach in time when this happens again?" Nana asked.

Adi gave Nana a look.

"Why will Sona ever hurt me? That is Sona. It is just Sona with superpowers. Her having Kali superpowers will not change her. She will still be Sona. She will always be Sona. Sona has never been wrong and she will never be wrong. She protected me and will always protect me." She jumped away from Nani's arms and walked away huffing in childish fit.

"You are only not understanding. Why do you want Sonakshi to be like Alaknanda? She is not Alaknanda. She is not Narayana's child, swami. She is Gauri's child. She will be like Gauri. She is Shiva's child. She will always be Kali's child. Why force her to be like Alaknanda? Alaknanda, by nature, doesn't have that fierce form because Narayana doesn't have his. The fiercest form is that of Narasimha. If she transforms into that, what will you do? Tie her down too? Please try to understand. Let Sonakshi be Sonakshi. Alaknanda is a child but still understands this better."

"I just want Sonakshi to be normal, Prasuti."

"Sonakshi is not normal. Sonakshi is a devakumari. She is not normal. She is Kali's child. Stop trying to make it look like a thing to fear because you and I had a terrible experience of that fierce form. You and I both know that it was our own fault. Sati was always Shakti. You just didn't want to admit it. Alaknanda understand it then why can't you? Lest all this cause Sonakshi to forget her own self."
