I Am The Alpha (Part 1/2)

I am the Alpha - Part 11

Walking out of my room I realise it smells of white sage and lavender. So the healer must have been here no wonder I feel so much better. I’ll ask about it later.

Reaching the stairs I mentally prepare myself for what might happen, I might not be able to connect through the link. I hadn’t before. My worry floods away as I reach the lounge where my pack, are waiting for me, along with my mum and dad. They all look up at me as I walk in smiling happily. I watch as their faces change from relief, to shock, to confusion, to relief finally landing on happiness.

“Miss me?”

“Erin!!!” Jack yells happily before running over to give me majorly awesome bear hug, lifting me off my feet as he does. “I missed you lil’ sis!” He puts me down and I find myself picked up over and over again by the rest of the guys, getting a whole load of hugs and smiles. Finally I am put down in front of my parents who are beaming at me.

“Erin, sweet heart I’m glad you’re back on your feet! Are you feeling better?” My mum questions warmly.

“I feel amazing!” I answer honestly.

“That’s good to hear”

I look up at my dad waiting for him to speak. “Don’t ever do that to us again” He growls before engulfing me in a bone crushing hug. I smile typical dad.

“I’ll try”

“Good.”

“Erin, we need you to tell us how you feel and test your abilities to see if they’re still intact,” he explains.

“Mmkay”

They all sit down waiting for me to talk; the guys burning with curiosity, mum worrying about my health and dad concerned. I smile and let my instincts take over washing a wave of calm over them all, even my parents. I only ever used to be able to do that to the guys through the Alpha link. They gasp and it swirls around them leaving them content. I smile again.

“Did you guys die my hair?”

“What do ya mean?” Jordan queries

I pull the white streak of white tucked behind my ear into full view “I mean this!”

“Holy crap, Erin what’s that?”

I realise that none of them know anything about it. Great. “I woke up with it there, my eyes have an amber ring in them, oh and also there’s this” I tell them pulling up my hoody and pushing my jeans down a tiny bit, exposing my right hip. I turn to them and indicate to my new mark. They collectively gasp.“Yeah, that’s what I did when I saw it.”

“Dude, that is awesome!!” Mitch exclaims

“Erin, do you realise that your Alpha power has intensified? I mean we usually can feel it but now it’s majorly intensified.” Jack asks

“I feel the power, much more than before” I smile as the warmth of it pulses through me.

“Don’t let it go to your head” Jordan sniggers

“You’re just jealous!!”

“We all are Rin,” Matt laughs

“Erin, go with the pack into the forest to test your new abilities but stay out of trouble” Dad tells me.

Yes!! I can’t wait to go for a run!! I pull of my chucks so they won’t get wrecked.  “Okay!! Come on guys, I’ll race ya to the meadow!” I yell before running out the back door straight into the familiar forest. I can hear them hot on my heels; they are not winning this race! Wolf time!! I jump into the air and the transformation happens; my spine twist, my body is covered with fur and my and hands turn into paws as I land in wolf form. Feeling a new rush of energy I speed up, the world turning into a blur as I rush toward the meadow, our meadow. Suddenly I stop letting out a growl, a wolf has been here, right in the furthest edge of our territory, my territory. How dare they? The guys appear a few seconds later and stop confused when they see me sniffing around.

: ‘Someone’s been here, recently’ :

: ‘You sure?’ Jack questions unsurely. :

: ‘Duh! Smell it for yourself’ :

He sniffs the ground by my feet then lets out a growl similar to mine.

: ‘Has anyone been out here while I was out?’ :

: ‘We patrolled the borders a few days ago but we didn’t catch this scent’ Jack replies as Beta.

: ‘It must be fairly recent, but it’s been at least a day.’ :

: ‘Mitch, Matt, follow the scent make sure they have left our territory. If it leaves the woods don’t bother following’ I order in my Alpha voice :

: ‘On it!’ the both reply at once :

They run off, following the scent carefully as they go.

: ‘The rest of us will continue to the meadow and we’ll meet you there’ :

: ‘Okay’ :

: ‘Come on I’ve got a race to win!!’ I yell:

I rush past the guys continuing towards the meadow at full speed. Dodging between trees, rushing through long grass and jumping over fallen trees I make my way to our meadow. The ground changing from hard to soft, from uneven to flat under my paws.

: ‘Erin slow down’ Jordan complains :

: Not a chance slow pokes!!’ :

My face forms a wolfy grin as I see the familiar path through the forest up to the meadow. The path was made by our constant use of the route, flattening all the shrubs and grass until it struggled to grow anymore leaving an early track. I leap into the meadow and rush to my favourite tree.

Oh no, he did not..... I let a fierce growl rip through my body as I take in the fact that the rogue had been in our clearing. Are they asking for trouble!? Any wolf with half a brain knows that going into the place where a pack’s scent is marked strongest is the same as waving a gun in the face of an army.  They guys sprint toward me and let out furious growls as they take in the scent that lingers all around the meadow.

: ‘This means war! I declare’

: ‘Hell yes!’ Jack agrees :

: ‘Is this guy looking for a death sentence? Jordan asks in bewilderment and anger :

: ‘Apparently so’ :

: ‘What’s up guys?’ Mitch enquires :

: ‘The rouge has been in our meadow, the place reeks of him.’ :

Mitch and Matt’s growls echo through the link.

: ‘Where does the scent lead?’ I ask:

: ‘Towards down town. We’re on our way back’ :

: ‘Okay, Guys forget about it for now.’ :

The all started growling in protest, wanting to go find him and rip him to shreds...

: ‘We will find the bastard later and teach him a lesson!’ I declare :

They bristle in anticipation but still wouldn’t stop growling

: ‘Leave it! For now we have to make sure our pack links are working and figure out what the hell is up with me. Now go change!’ I use my Alpha powers once again to enforce the demand. :
