The First Battle

"Wilbur you hurt-" she tried to say, but he was already ignoring the pain he was clearly in, and was barking orders down the tunnel that lead to the sewers.

"Tommy? Tommy are you down there?" He yelled angrily. A few seconds of silence passed before he got a response.

"Wilbur!? Hel- have you got Y/n?" He yelled back.

"Yes Tommy, she's here. Now you lot get back up here." He said, now looking around at the small fire that had appeared by Y/ns feet, making her jump. She came closer to Will and placed her hand on his left shoulder.

"But Wilbur, it's safer down here!" Tommy yelled back.

Wilbur added even more anger to his tone.
"Men, you get up here right now, we haven't ever rained fire on them yet, get back here!"

A chorus of "trues" and "yeses" soon followed, and within a minute Wilbur saw Tommys blond hair appear from the tunnel.

Wilbur then turned to Y/n.
"Y/n, I want you to stick with me during the entrity of this battle, understood?" She nodded in agreement. "We have no armour or weapons, so we will be the diversion, ok?" He said as he watched Tommy and Tubbo frantically place half slabs on the Windows.

"Wilbur, you will be safe, right? Not do anything stupid?" She said as she stood watching the others, panic stripped through her voice. Wilbur turned to her and smiled, before pulling her back behind a wall to shield her from the fire arrows that were still raining down.

"Y/n, I will do what it takes to protect you and my country." He said looking deep into her eyes. "If I'm doing it protecting the things I care about, then I won't do anything stupid" Y/n smiled and nodded, although there was still fear in her eyes.

What if Wilbur got killed trying to save them, what if Dream captured her again, and hurt her even more, what if Eret betrayed them and killed them all?

Her worried thoughts were quickly wiped as Will planted a small kiss on her forehead and gave her a comforting smile. She felt safe again.

With that, the two joined the others, who had now gone outside and were trying to land some shots on Dream and his army. Without hesitation Wilbur grabbed Y/ns wrist and yelled at her to follow him, which she did.

"Dodge the arrows, dodge the arrows!" They heard Tubbo yell as the two of them ran over to a tree right under the tower where Dream was. Will and Y/n then worked as a team to bait the arrows away from Tommy and the others, whilst keeping them selves safe.

Then Y/n stopped.
"Will, they've stopped shooting!"

Tubbo lowered his bow to look at Dream, who had now orders his men to climb down the tower.

"They're retreating!" He yelled triumphantly, although he knew the battle wasn't over yet.

"They're going to Ponks tower!" Tommy yelled as he shot one last arrow towards them.

"Well if they're going to Ponks tower, we need to go to Punzs tower! They're the same height." Tubbo said enthusiastically making Y/n laugh.

The 4 of them that had weapons continued to shoot at Dream while they had their chance of the high ground, and Wilbur and Y/n came out from the tree to join them in moving location. Tommy led the way towards the large grey tower surrounded by darker walls. Y/n and Wilbur brought up the rear, nd split off from the others.

"The chance if this being a trap is very likely" Y/n heard Tommy say, making her shudder with fear. She made her way over to the ladder and started to climb, with Will not far behind. Soon enough the two of them were on the top of the walls, which weren't very high and didn't provide any protection, and Tommy and the others were at the top if Punzs tower.

"They're at the base of the tower" Wilbur said through the intercom as he watched Dream shoot down towards Fundy who was still making his way to meet with the others.

Suddenly Y/n and Wilbur heard a happy scream from Tommy.
"Their arrows cant reach us Wilbur! We're safe!"

A small weight was lifted from Wills shoulders, but this meant that Dream could only fire on him and Y/n.

"They can only fire on us!" Y/n replied back to Tommy, who was still raining fire on Dream.

Y/n felt someone grab her shoulder and pull her down so she was covered by the wall.
"Y/n, you need to stay down, I can't have you hurting your self in front of me" Wilbur said, who was also crouching. Y/n nodded, but not before they heard another cheer from Tommy.

"Y/n! Wilbur! They're retreating! We've won!" Wilbur could hear the relief in his best friends voice, making him smile. He then felt a tightness around his torso, and he looked down to see a delighted Y/n hugging him happily.

"Hey! We did it!" She said as she pulled away and jumped up and down.

"Yes Y/n, we have won this battle but-"  Wilbur was cut off by Y/n planting a kiss on his cheek, which kind if slapped him into reality.

"We won! Just be happy for once!" She said, making him smile, realising she was right. He needed to look on the bright side.

A call came in over the intercom. It was from Eret.
"I think we should go back to L'manburg now guys" he said, although his voice didn't seem to be the same level if excitement as the others.

"Yeah! Let's go celebrate!" Tommy yelled.
Wilbur hugged Y/n one more time before climbing down the ladder to join the others.

"I have something I want to show you guys," Eret said slyly "a weapon I think you'll like"
