"Good," Esther says before leaving the room.

"Father,"

"Yes?"

"Thank you, for everything,"

A small smile appeared on Mikael's face.

"I still hate you,"

It was a lie, they both knew it. She wishes she could hate him, he was an awful father towards her siblings, but he was still her father. Nothing could ever change that.

Mikael only watched as her eyes began to close, the only sign that the medicine started to kick in. With a sigh, Mikael walks out of the room. It was time for him to get back to his work.

A soft humming filled her ears, like that of a lullaby. It was familiar yet distant in her mind. When her eyes finally open the humming stops.

"Dear Elliana, it appears my time here has been cut short,"

Her vision was blurred, but she didn't need her vision to know who was speaking.

"You should have kept your dreams a secret from those people you call your parents,"

When her vision fully clears she looks directly at him. He didn't seem angry or upset, he actually looked pretty neutral about the situation. He releases a sigh as his hands go to the back of his head. He closes his eyes before speaking again.

"I suppose I should have known you would tell,"

This time one of his eyes open, giving her a questioning look.

"You won't speak to me anymore? I assure you there is no reason to keep secrets, we already know everything about you, Elena,"

He says her name with disgust, a clear sign that he dislikes it.

Elena's heart drops a bit, she had never given him her name.

"You know my name?"

"As I said, we know everything about you,"

"You keep saying we..."

"Yes, we are referred to as Kismet,"

"I do not understand,"

"I never expected you to understand, it is not the right time,"

"Why are you telling me this?"

"Kismet is your birthright, I thought you should have the right to know,"

Elena opened her mouth to speak but he quickly interrupted.

"Unfortunately you won't remember this, hopefully, some part of you will," the boy says as he places a kiss on Elena's lips.

Before Elena could react everything vanished.

"It's done, she shouldn't have any more of those dreams," Ayana confirms.

"Thank you, Ayana," Esther says.

"Of course," Ayana replies.

Ayana watches as Esther begins to walk towards the door.

"Are you going to teach her magic?" Ayana asks.

"No,"

"You are scared of her powers,"

Esther freezes before releasing a sigh.

"Is that so wrong? You haven't felt the entirety of Elena's magic, it would be best if we keep it hidden,"

"Do not be a fool, Esther, one day she will use her magic. It is your duty as her mother to ensure that she learns how to control it,"

Esther took a deep breath in before nodding.

"You are right, but I-"

"I will do it," Ayana says abruptly.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes,"

***

"Elena," Niklaus whispers, watching as her eyes open.

"You came?"

A smile appeared on Niklaus's face as he nodded.

"Are you..."

"Yes, I am okay,"

"Why did you do it?"

Elena only furrowed her eyebrows at him.

"Why did you protect me? Not even mother would do what you did," Niklaus clarifies.

"I refuse to stand there and watch you get hurt, Niklaus, you are my brother,"

Niklaus takes her hand in his.

"You could've died," He tells her.

"I would gladly die if it means I could save you,"

"This isn't right, I am the one who is supposed to protect you,"

"We can protect each other,"

Niklaus only shakes his head before rushing out of the room.

"He will come around," Elijah says as he stands by the door.

"Do you think so?"

"I do," Elijah says as a smile graces his face.

"I would do the same for all of you,"

"You shouldn't have to,"

Elena spares him one last glance before she closes her eyes.
