Lacuna Coil - "Entwined"

****

The following days were a strange time for Jiang Cheng.

His body felt differently, and not just because of the pregnancy. The memorable night in which they made love in such a fulfilling, earth-shaking way unlocked something in him. The sensation of his heat changed too  –  now his body was not begging any more, but rather  demanding   sex. He would literally stalk Zewu-Jun and whenever he was all alone  –  he would sneak on him, block the door, and push him on the floor, or push him against a wall, jump on him, trembling, and bribe him, or force him, or seduce him to make love to him.

It was marvelous  –  as the pleasure was indescribable  –  but it was also awful, as he could not think about anything else, and his body yearned for his husband so badly that he sometimes had to use his hands to pleasure himself, as a last resort, as Lan Huan was still quite busy. This brought very little satisfaction, and quite a lot of shame, as it, in a way, felt like he was cheating on Zewu-Jun. He wanted his body to belong only to him...

So, their nights were exhausting but also wonderful, as they could enjoy each other fully, and at will. Jiang Cheng did not care any more about how he looked, there was literally no time for this over desire  –  he had already gotten used to the thought that he looked differently now; the only important thing was to quench his devastating desire, to get his satisfaction, to feel his beloved deep inside, and to try to replicate that sublime moment of unbelievable pleasure that shook his whole body and melted his bones.

They made love wildly and freely, always a little worried about the baby too; but as there were no negative physical effects, and Jiang Wanyin felt wonderful, albeit a little sleep-deprived, they kept at it, contented and very much in love.

***

New Year's came, and all the servants did their best to make the atmosphere in the house festive  –  with decorations and delicious food. The happiest of all were the children, naturally; they were allowed to stay late at the festive dinner table, playing with paper money and running around the hall, too excited to feel tired or sleepy. It was the first time they had so much freedom, and they suspected that it was because of their Uncle Wanyin  –  both their dads were very kind and careful with him, and his belly was now getting even bigger  -  it was a miracle!

They were giggling, watching their uncles drink and kiss and laugh, even more than their Dad and their Papa; it all meant that the holiday was really, really special, and for tonight  –  there were no rules. All were dressed in red to attract the good luck to the household, and the night felt special  –  even more so as it had started to snow that same evening.

Jiang Cheng did not care who saw him. He was way too happy not to show it, express it with his whole body. Now sitting in his husband's lap, he was letting him feed him too much food, and give him small sips from his own cup of wine, giggling like a girl and whispering gentle, or naughty, things in his ear, making him blush.

***

Zewu-Jun was perfectly happy. His family was here with him, and there was nothing more he could wish for, but health. His hands were either caressing his husband's soft lips, or resting on his belly, feeling his future son faintly kick and turn, probably too excited too.

- Are you happy, my soft little kitten?   –  he murmured, smitten;  Sandu Shengshou looked amazingly good in red  –  it reminded him of their wedding: back then, Jiang Cheng had looked sad, but quite magnificent in his official attire.

- Mmmm.  -  Jiang Wanyin was licking his husband's fingers after some sweet bread had been fed into his mouth.  –  I am only sorry for one thing, darling... I think.

- Oh? What is it, my precious?  –  Lan Xichen looked at him, flushed, and curious now.

- Um, I really wanted to bring offerings to the Temple, Huan... It has been such a... difficult year. There is no temple near here... I had arranged to do this in Gusu. Now... I regret not being there.  –   he said, a little sad.

- We can still do this, if you really wish it so strongly, my love. We will be travelling back in a day or two.  –  Zewu-Jun caressed his cheek.

- Yes. Yes, of course. But...

He looked up seriously and took his husband's hands in his own, now murmuring:

- As soon as we return and rest, I want to go back to Lotus Pier. I want to visit my parents' shrines. I need to bring offerings to them too.

He had said those words a little louder, and Wei Wuxian heard him.

- I will join you, Shīdì.

- Wei Ying...  -  Hanguang-Jun mumbled, not too happy about this decision.  –  How can you say that? Those people treated you so badly!  –  he said with reproach, casting a malicious glare at Jiang Cheng too.

- Paying respects to the dead has nothing to do with this, Lan Zhan.  –  he said seriously.  –  Moreover, it is my home. A-Cheng, have you reached a decision as to the future affairs of the Clan?  –  he turned to his brother as the topic was too gloomy and bleak to be discussed on the biggest holiday of the year.

- I have.  -  Sandu Shengshou said sternly, straightening his back.  –  I will announce it to what remains of the Yunmeng Jiang Clan, in person.

Hanguang-Jun was frowning. This meant  that he would be without Wei Ying  again.   He just hoped it wouldn't be for another month this time; he had missed him so miserably before.

- What do you think about all this, Brother?  –  he asked Lan Xichen.

- I would support my husband, of course. Wanyin, I will be coming along  –  I cannot let you ride alone, it goes without saying. When we get back to the Cloud Recesses we will rest a day or two... I really want you checked up again. Only three months remain now.  –  he said gently, caressing the baby bump over the clothes.

- Whatever you say, Zewu-Jun... We will do as you wish, husband... Yes, my love...  -  Jiang Cheng murmured lovingly in his face, melting to his touch

- Ugh!  –  Wei Wuxian rolled his eyes.  –  If this is not dark magic, then I have never seen any!  –  he mumbled unhappily; his brother was acting like an idiot around his husband, so completely out of character.

- It is settled then.  –  Lan Xichen said solemnly.
