They hissed, "We could rule for an eternity." I cut them short, "But you would still die, because we would still kill you. Tell me, oh grand ones, what will the mortal humans think about immortal rulers? The last time they slaughtered every last one of them."
"We have armies-"
Nesta hissed from behind me, "Armies that I lead, armies that I have given the order to march into your caste and burn it the fuck down." My elder sister's grin was half feral. "By the way, Queen Vassa says hello."
The king gave the order, I watched Elain get hauled toward the cauldron. I screamed for her, and Tamlin took the moment. He reached forward and gripped my elbow, I kicked in his knee dodging his other hand. He reached forward again, only to be met with Rhysand's fist. Tamlin sprawled across the floor.
I hadn't read the book, but I knew deep down, Kana was still playing the game to death. Omnes Potentes, All Powerful.
Elain, sweet Elain, just pulled A knife from the guards belt. And with all her might she chucked it to Nesta. Who caught it with ease.
Then she was shoved into the cauldron. Nesta chucked the knife with all she had, right at one of the Queens. The Queen went down like a fly. The cauldron tipped and poured Elain out. Just peeking out from her hair, was pointed ears.
The king sent a blast of the cauldron's power, Rhysand, through me to the floor. I watched as Cas shielded Mor and Az with his wings. His scream tore through the castle, his wings completely shredded, blood dripping down into his leathers.
A Queen hummed, "So it is possible." The king smiled down at Nesta, who was restrained by four guards. "Long ago, I watched a girl take out one of my best legions. She was about fifteen at the time, Her name was Kana Archeron."
No.
"My nephew and niece killed her recently." The King smirked. "Yet I would be unstoppable with her as my blade. My Queen." No. The thing stirred in my chest. All Powerful.
The king flicked his fingers. And a glass and bone coffin appeared. My sisters rotting body gently laid inside. I vomited, Rhysands arm wrapped around me like a lifeline.
"The special thing about twins, Nesta Archeron, I need both halves of the same soul to resurrect her. Fix that horrible sickness your mother poisoned her with." No. No, No.
Just let her have peace.
"So to fix this, I needed two things. The second half, and her soul."
"What?" Tamlin hissed. The king smiled, "When Kana died, she gripped the chess piece in her hand, The Black Queen. However a third party decided it wasn't her time, so they trapped her soul in the chess piece."
The guard pulled the chess piece from Nesta's pocket. The guard chucked it to the king who gave it to another guard. They pulled Nesta up and forced her toward the cauldron, "Enjoy your reunion Archeron."
The second guard dropped Kana's body and the chess piece into the cauldron, Then the guards tried to force Nesta down too.
My eldest sister, wretched her hand free, with one finger, flung it at the king. A promise, a promise of death and destruction. The king had the sense to look threatened. Then they went under.

Kana's POV:
The darkness cracked, and I was thrust back into the light. The cold chilling water pulled Nesta and I down. My mark burned, I glanced at Nesta crying. "I failed you."
