20. The Sacrifice

Pietro stopped as he turned around to see Matteo following him. Matteo stopped and looked up at Pietro with a confused look, Pietro gave him a small smile before he looked up and seen Steve and Nat helping people to shuttles. Pietro then looked back down at Matteo, all of the sudden in that moment Pietro remembered how Matteo would always want to follow in his footsteps and act like him when he would do something brave or funny around their home. Pietro smiled a little at the memory before he kneeled down infront of Matteo. The young Maximoff was a bit confused before he looked at his older brother in his eyes. "(Teo. I want you to stay with Steve and Natasha to help them get the people of the boats ok?" Pietro said as he put both his hands on Matteo's shoulders. "(But I wanna help wif you though.)" Matteo said in a sad voice. "(You are helping me! But I'm faster. And I want you to help these people get on the boats safely. Can you do that for Bubby?)" Pietro asked as he looked into Matteo's eyes. Matteo did a little sigh before nodding. Pietro smiled as he got up "I'll see you soon! Good luck!" Pietro said as he the zoomed off. Matteo smiled at him before he went over to go and help Nat and Steve with the people.

As Matteo went to go help people onto the boats he was collided into another person. Him and the other person fell to the ground, Matteo let out a grunt before he sat up and seen who ran into him. As he was about to get back up he was tackled "(MATTEO!!)" he heard two voices he thought he would never hear again. Matteo looked at seen Grace and Arlo who where dirty from debris and had some small cuts on them. "(GRACIE! ARLO!!)" Matteo said excitedly before he hugged them. The three kids hugged before he seen a robot behind them and starting to get close to them. Matteo was quick on his feet, he got out of their grip and stood in front of them and used his powers to blast the robot into pieces. The two kids looked at Matteo with shock before they got up "(woah! THAT WAS AMAZING!)" Arlo shouted before he smiled. "(YEAH!)" Grace blurted out. Matteo smiled before he remembered his job "(guys i would love to t-talk but you need to get to the boat! I'll see you guys soon o-otay?)" Matteo said before he ushered them onto the boat. "(Yeah! Ok! Don't take to long and be safe of Teo!)" Arlo stated. "(Yeah! Stay safe! Be the hero you always where Prince Mattie!)" Grace said as she smiled. Matteo smiled at them before he went along to go and help others usher onto the boats.

As Matteo got done helping people to the boats he seen the Avengers go head back to the church. Matteo took this as his que to go and head over along with them to help. As Matteo was running to the church he seen Wanda and Pietro in the doorway of the church. Matteo smiled before he ran at full speed to go and hug Wanda. Wanda was surprised by the sudden small body clashing onto her, as she looked down she seen Matteo. She sighed in relief before she picked Matteo up and hugged him close to her. "(You ok guppy?)" she asked as she put a hand on his cheek. Matteo nodded as he then looked over to see Pietro give him a smile. Even though Matteo had a laser blast to his arm and a lot of bruises and cuts on him, the adrenaline was really high he couldn't feel anything.

The twins along with Matteo went to the core and stood there. Wanda had put Matteo down on the ground as they both stood in front of him protectively. Matteo watched and Nat and Hulk came in, he smiled as he seen all of the avengers and his siblings in one area. "Is that the best you can do?!" Thor yelled out. Matteo looked over and seen Ultron flying in the air. Matteo looked at him with fear and anger rushing though his veins. All of the sudden matteo seen a lot of robots come out of no where and he felt a lot of pressure. "This is the best I can do." Ultron stated. "You had to ask?" Steve sighed as he said looking over at Thor. Matteo shook his anxiety off a bit before he got into his fighting stance. Wanda and Pietro looked down at Matteo before they looked at each other with a nod and got ready to fight. They where both proud at how their scared little brother is now wanting to face the fight and not wanting to run from it.

Matteo and all of the Avengers got around the Core and started to now fight against the robots that came all around them to get to the core. Matteo using with wisps to blast the robots that came to his area, he looked over and seen Wanda and Pietro using their powers to do the same. Matteo smiled a little before he continued to fight the robots that came all around them. As the young boy was fighting he felt a weird tingling sense come over him, as that happened he jumped and did a backflip and blasted a robot that was coming to him from behind. As he landed the backflip he just did he stumbled a bit and had a really shocked look on his face. He then looked up to see Wanda who gave him the same look at him before she blasted some more robots. Matteo then shook tat weird move he just did and continued to fight off the robots.
