C32: Smiley Monkey

I pulled away when I realized that we had been in the same position for a couple of minutes.

We sat on the ground, and I was looking everywhere just to avoid making eye contact with Jennie.

"I'm sorry." She apologized, which made me a bit sad.

"Nah, it's fine." I stood up from the ground and patted my clothes to remove the dirt. I offered a hand and she accepted it.

"Are you not going to asked me about why I did that?" She asked me, earning a shake of the head from me.

"As long as you didn't regret it, because I didn't regret any tiny bit of it." I smiled at her and she reciprocated it with a wide smile.

"I didn't because I love what happened." I felt my face heat up, which made her laugh a bit. "You are blushing."

"It's normal when my crush just kisses me and says she loves it." I playfully rolled my eyes.

I was about to continue walking when she suddenly grabbed my wrist, making me stop in my tracks.

"Don't ever think that I hate you because it will never happen, Lili." She said it with full sincerity.

"It's good to hear that, Nini." I slightly pinched my cheeks.

We continued walking back to our camp and suddenly someone talked on the walkie-talkie. It's Seulgi asking where we are, and I replied that we are near the camp.

What happened in the woods keeps repeating in my mind every time I see Jennie, and I can't help but smile.

I know our friends are looking at us and thinking that I'm being weird, but who cares? I'm so happy right now that I can hear my heart pounding loudly and fast.

It's already late and time to bed. Our teammates went to their tents and I was supposed to go to my tent, which I shared with Jisoo, but Sana asked me to sleep in her tent with Jennie.

I let Sana sleep in my tent because she really doesn't like the idea of sharing a tent with Jennie.

"Are you going to sleep in one tent with me?" Jennie asked, we are still not inside our tent.

Suddenly, I noticed a figure peeking at Jennie's tent, and I recognized it as Jisoo. She appeared to be looking for something.

I motioned to Jennie to keep quiet and pointed at Jisoo. She looked at Jisoo in disbelief.

I slowly walked behind Jisoo and watched what she was doing.

"What do you think you are doing?" I asked behind her, which made her flinch. I raised an eyebrow, and she slowly turned around to look at me.

"I'm planning to kill our captain. Do you want to help me?" She reasoned it out, and I stopped myself from laughing.

She doesn't know that Jennie is standing beside her with an unknown aura.

"Do you want me to kill you first?" She froze in her position when she heard Jennie's voice.

Jennie intentionally spoke coldly to Jisoo, who was scared.

'Help.' Jisoo mouthed to me, but I just crossed her arms and smiled at her.

'Goodluck, Chicken.' I murmured back and started walking away.

I decided to just sleep inside the van because I can't sleep beside Jennie tonight or else I will die because of my heart, which is beating so fast every time she is around.

It's pretty hard to lie here inside the van. I can't stretch my long legs because I need to curl up to make myself fit in the chair.

"Goodnight, world." I said as I closed my eyes and let myself fall into a deep slumber.

I woke up when someone opened the compartment door of the van. I slowly sat up and adjusted my sight.

It's Rosé.

She didn't notice that I was inside the van, maybe because it was still pretty dark. The sun is still sleeping.

She gets something in the back of the van and it's her bag. 

I wore my jacket and went out of the van. I followed her where she was going, and she was having a walk in the woods alone.

"You might get lost if you walk too far from the tent." I spoke from behind, which made her startled.

"What are you doing here?" She asked.

"Following you." I answered.

She didn't ask any further, she just continued walking with me following her behind.

I hope I'm not making her feel uncomfortable.

We arrive at a cliff, and the sun is starting to rise. I sat on a big rock and Rosé was just standing in front of me, admiring the beautiful view.

Suddenly, she turned around, facing me, and she smiled at me.

"I like you, Lisa." She confessed bravely and chuckled. "I've been wanting to tell you that, but I'm scared of ruining our friendship. However, today is an exception since you already know my romantic feelings toward you. "

"I have been liking you since we were still children. I'm sorry for liking you romantically and for avoiding you these past few days. " 

"Don't apologize, Chaeyoung-ah. It's fine. I know you need some space and time to think. " I smiled at her, reassuring her that everything was fine.

"I can still be your best friend, right?" She asked, hoping that we would be the same after her confession.

"You didn't have to ask because you are my bestfriend since day one. I'm not going to waste our friendship just because you like me. I treasure you more than anything else because you are my best friend and twin. " I stood up and walked towards her. "How long am I going to wait for my best friend to come back to me?"

"Not that long. Let me just forget my feelings for you, then I promise I'll be back as your best friend who will always have your back like what you always do back then till now." She said

I wrapped my arms around her shoulder and hugged her tightly.

"I'll be waiting, Chipmunk." She hugged me back and nodded.
