Shit, Meliodas thought. He couldn't reveal himself yet, but he also couldn't allow that scroll to get away. I was hoping I wouldn't have to do this....Gowther! Galand! He called telepathically. My lord? Gowther answered. There's a group of guards heading your way with a scroll. Take care of them and retrieve the scroll. Quietly, he ordered. Ka ka ka! Galand laughed. Finally! Gowther spoke over him. As you wish. Then, they were gone. Hopefully Galand doesn't screw this up, Meliodas thought as the traitorous nobles sat back down.
"Still, our main problem is the High Prince," Itzal continued, calmed down from the guards' interruption. Gethin sighed. "I agree. If he were to find even the slightest notion that we were involved, he'd hunt us down like animals." I've already hunted you down– All of a sudden, there was a huge crash. Meliodas's head snapped towards the noise, as did Itzal and Gethin's. Tell me that's not–
Before Meliodas could finish his thought, the door was hit with a massive amount of force and flew off its handles. The projectile that had hit it slide to a stop at the other Demons' feet. It was a guard. Don't tell me...Meliodas stared in infuriated shock as Galand whooped, slicing his way through dozens of guards. "Ka ka ka! Try and put up a fight, would you?!" He yelled gleefully. Fake-Gowther followed behind him, shaking his head while shooting his enemies with his Blackout ability. Those damned idiots! Meliodas thought. What in the Four Realms are they doing?!
"What are they doing here?!" Gethin exclaimed, jumping from his chair. Itzal stood and cursed. "Arl must have told them about us!" Gethin turned. "You idiot! I told you something like this would happen." Itzal snorted. "It's just two. It's not like the High Prince is here." Meliodas threw his shadowy hands in the air. Forget it! Ghostasu Form: Dissolve. After his magic had dissipated, Meliodas stepped from the shadows. "Surprise."
They spun around and turned pale upon seeing him. He grinned murderously at them. He expected them to try to run, or negotiate, or even fight. He did not expect them to scream. Scream. Like little children. "By the pits....." He muttered. I'm surrounded by imbeciles.
Then, Itzal abruptly stopped screaming. Yanking a dagger from a sheath, he threw it at Meliodas. Meliodas easily dodged it, irritated beyond all reason. He couldn't kill them-dead men tell no tales-but...I can damn well beat them to a bloody pulp. Meliodas sidestepped another dagger and grinned at the two Demons. They turned even paler, Gethin uttering something that sounded perilously close to a whimper. "You know, I've had a very bad week," Meliodas said, the words all the more terrifying for them being said so conversationally. "And most of it is your fault. So, I'm going to take all my annoyance out on you two. Try not to die."
With no farther warning, he lifted his sword off his shoulder and slashed downwards. Itzel's hand flew off, taking his next dagger with it. He screamed, stumbling backwards. Gethin drew his sword from the sheath hanging at his hip and came at him, yelling. "GWAHHHHH!" Meliodas swung his sword several times, in unperceivable movements. Gethin watched in shocked horror as his sword fell to the ground in pieces. He was so concentrated on his ruined sword, he didn't even see Meliodas's fist until it plowed into his face. He sent him flying back about 20 feet, where he slammed into a wall and slid slowly down, leaving a trail of blood.
Meliodas looked at them and shook his head. "You're making this way too easy for me." Itzal slowly got up, his darkness flaring around him. His hand reconnected. Meliodas smirked. "That's better."
They continued fighting, Gethin rejoining them after he had healed himself. Galand and Fake-Gowther went on dispatching the guards in various painful ways. Meliodas toyed with his opponents, letting them land a few hits. After all, it was no fun to just beat them into submission.
As Meliodas was amusing himself, he abruptly sensed five presences running past them. But he couldn't see anyone running past them....His eyes widened. If he couldn't see them here, that meant.....there had to be something underneath them. Sh– Before Meliodas could finish that thought, Galand cut in. I'll take care of those flies! Then, before Meliodas could stop him, he leapt away. –it. He finished, irritated. Why does this have to happen to me? It was too late; he couldn't order Galand to return. Doing so would allow them to escape. He sighed. That idiot better not screw this up.
