"You guys won't judge me?" I ask them. I feel so vulnerable and all I need is their reassurance.
"No, never." Roman quickly assures me.
"Absolutely not." Noah says as well.
"Okay..." I mutter waiting for them to help me walk to the bathroom.
They chuckle while bringing me into my new bathroom. Roman hands me the swimsuit. "We will wait outside, when you're ready just yell."
I nod and shove them out of the room. Turning around looking at myself in the mirror I take a deep breath before slipping off my clothes and slipping into the swimsuit.
It fits perfectly and I'm not worried about it being too tight or too loose. But when I look up at the mirror my blood runs cold as I see all the scars on display.
I have the barely healed gunshot wound on my shoulder. The swimsuit is more of an open back so you can see all of the belt lashes and cuts. Luckily all the words in my skin are covered, I don't think I would be able to show anyone any of those marks. My legs have multiple bruises that are still healing and then the gunshot wound on my right leg. I gulp looking at myself.
I'm strong.
They told me they won't judge me. The promised. What if they lied? No. They wouldn't have. They've never lied before, why would they now?
"You alright Daisy?" I hear Noah call from the other side of the door.
"I don't know." I let my lip wobble. I am strong. I shouldn't cry.
I can't help it, I'm a big crier.
I let the single tears fall and wait for Noah's response. "Remember what I told you Daisy, we won't judge you. Don't let what Margaret and Anthony did to you be the reason you don't live life. We love you and do not care that you have scars." He says from the other side of the door. I sniffle and attempt to wipe my tears.
Taking a huge breath I hobble over to the door and swing it open. When I open it fully I see Noah who is standing close to the door staring directly at my face.
He doesn't look at my scars. Just my face. He crouches down and wraps a towel around my figure. "There." He mumbles while securing the towel and wipping my tears.
"No more crying Daisy it's time to have fun." He smiles. I nod and give him a small smile. He nods happily and picks me back up.
I hate not being able to walk. I bet my brothers get a kick out of it though. The less I can move the more opportunities for hugs.
Bastards.
I hide my face in Noah's shoulder as he happily walks through the house. He's already in his swimsuit and when we get outside to the fancy pool in the backyard I see Roman already chilling on an inflatable duck drinking a pop. He's wearing sunglasses and looks so chillaxed.
"Hello brother and sister take a dip!" Roman exclaims.
"You're weird." I let him know.
"Trust me Daisy, I know, I take pride in it though. I think it spices up our lives a bit."
"Roman shut the hell up." Noah grumbles. Clearly he doesn't brighten up Noah's life, or Xander's, or Henry's or Dads. I won't tell him that though.
He makes me laugh.
"Daisy put on sunscreen, you did not take after our tanning genes. You'll just burn." Noah says tossing me the sunscreen before running and jumping onto Roman.
Ouch. That must've hurt.
I start applying the sunscreen and I put it on my legs, shoulders, arms and back. I squeeze a little out and put it on my face as well.
