But, sadly for Mina, Chaeyoung was the opposite of her friend. Most of her uploaded pictures were poems and landscapes that were aesthetically pleasing, and occasionally there were some drawings and paintings. However, there were a few pictures of her at a strawberry field and making strawberry jam, both of which were more than a year old.

Sana could not find anything on Tzuyu, which was disappointing. Nonetheless, she was quite intrigued by Chaeyoung. Her ideal type was always artsy girls and this girl ticked every box on her list.

After keeping her friend company for the evening, Mina was left alone with her thoughts. Chaeyoung seemed pretty from the few pictures available, but it was way too soon to say more. 'What is she like? Will she like me?' was all that went through her head. Just when she finished having dinner she heard keys jangling and a loud thump from the door followed after, signaling someone had arrived.

"Mina, I'm home!" Dr. Akira informed Mina with a tired voice.

Running out of the kitchen and into the spacious living room, Mina engulfed him in a hug from the waist. After exchanging small talk and answering questions about each other's days, the girl decided to get it over with ad take herself out of her misery she was currently in. "Uhm- I have something to tell you." In order to avoid looking at him directly, she kept her head down and played with her fingers.

"Please, don't tell me you're pregnant." His eyes were haunted as if he had just seen a ghost.

"God, no-" Mina almost continued about how it was impossible, but decided not to drop two bombs at once for the sake of their relationship.

"Then what is it? You know you can tell me anything, you'll always be my little girl no matter what." His voice sounded loving, and his lips were curved upwards into a smile that was partially hidden due to his mustache.

"Remember about that exchange thing I signed up for a few weeks ago?" She reminded, her pitch getting higher as the words left her lips.

"You got in?"

"Yeah..."

Her dad took a step forward and opened his arms, ready to receive his daughter. Mina reciprocated instantly; it felt like home, like she had found a warm blanket in the freezing cold. "I'm going to miss you so much. I can't believe you're leaving me here." Although the voice was shaky and deep, Mina could tell he was happy for he. After giving her a forehead kiss, which tickled his daughter because of his facial hair, he retracted.

They spent the following hours talking, something Mina had missed dearly. She explained she would be leaving on the Friday before classes started, and would come back to visit for the winter break. When Mina couldn't keep her eyes open, they decided to end the night and continue tomorrow. He also promised he would be around as much as possible before she left, which made Mina very happy.

Even though Mina could barely fight off sleep, she still had to write the letter. What was she supposed to say? She didn't want to make her future roommate dislike her before they even met in real life.

What none of the Japanese girls knew was that over 900 kilometers away, their hosts were doing the same thing they had done earlier.

"Who are they?" Chaeyoung asked Tzuyu looking up at her with curious eyes. The younger of the three was currently standing in front of them while the other two were sitting, almost as if she was a teacher prepared to give a class.

"First one: Hirai Momo. From what I found online she comes from an upper-middle-class family. She has been rocking bangs since the moment she started breathing and she has black hair, or at least she had until last month." Tzuyu was immersed in her speech, it looked like she had been preparing for this her whole life. "She also does contemporary dance, and she's one of the best in her prefecture."

"Bro she would have brought a PowerPoint presentation if we gave her more time" Dahyun whispered to Chaeyoung loudly, making the three friends giggle.

"I know, and she's the one that claims social media is toxic." Chaeyoung added, making the three laugh even more. Signaling with her hands, she asked. "Please, continue."

"Okay, second one: Myoui Mina. Both her parents are doctors and she's filthy rich. Surprisingly there are no pictures of her anywhere, but we can assume she's pretty too. I did find that she's also a dancer from the website of the academy where she does ballet, but that was it."

"Sweet." Chaeyoung was satisfied for now with that, she would only have to wait for a week to meet the girl in person so that was more than enough. "Who is yours?"

"Mine... Mine is called Minatozaki Sana. She's smoking hot and also a dancer. I'm pretty sure the three of them are friends, but we will know a lot more once they arrive."

After a few seconds of silence, Dahyun spoke up. "Tzuyu?"

"Yes, Dahyun?"

"Do they speak Korean?" It was very important, yet it had slipped past them up until now.

"From what I found, yes. They come from a private school and on their page it said they teach Korean."

'Who are you, Myoui Mina?' Chaeyoung wondered. Of course, she was also eager to meet the other girls, but who was the girl that would live with her for nine months? Curiosity was killing her but all she could do was wait until Friday.

"They'll be sending us a letter each the day after tomorrow, that way we'll know more about them before they arrive." Tzuyu kept sharing more information they had no idea how she even had in the first place.

"Wow, okay. I'll admit even though you're a pain in the ass, you're good at this, like, top-notch work right here." Dahyun loved making fun of her friends, but it was even more fun with Tzuyu. The two always had an ongoing innocent battle of teasing each other, and Chaeyoung just sat on the side and enjoyed the show.

Chaeyoung's insecurities started to rise as she made her way back home. The thought struck her: what if Mina was not happy living with her because she didn't live in a luxurious house? She had many questions that could not be answered at the moment, and by the time she got home, she would've retreated from her host position if it were possible.
