Part II - Chapter 19

Start from the beginning

Stressed and frustrated tears start to run down my face and I can't keep the tears that have been ready to spill all day in anymore as I start crying.

I feel two different hands on me. One on my hand which I can tell as Romans and one on my back which is James.

"Just take a breather Daise." Roman suggests.

"I can't do it! Why is math so hard?" I cry.

Stupid, stupid, stupid math.

Stupid Margaret for not teaching me this math when I was ten. Now I'm dumb as bricks and I am not even close to high school level. I should be in the tenth grade right now.

Idiota.

"Come on Daisy." James coos picking me up and holding me against his chest.

I feel my tears being wiped away and all I can do is cry.

"Dad, I'm so dumb." I cry to him. He tenses. Before pushing me back up and placing his hands on my shoulders.

"You aren't dumb, you will never be dumb. I swear to god if I hear you say you aren't smart again I will ground you from eating waffles." I gasp at that last part. He just nods his head as confirmation.

"You wouldn't?" I ask in disbelief.

"Oh I would," Wow, good to know where he stands. I guess his priorities are somewhere else. "You will never learn if you call yourself dumb, it's called self sabotage. You keep telling yourself you're dumb and soon you'll believe it and will never succeed. If you want to learn this math you can't do it tired and frustrated. So you are going to take a deep breath and then we are going to sit back down and Roman will tell you the answer and how to get to it. Then we will go watch some tv."

I take the deep breath and nod at him. I hop of his lap and we walk back to the kitchen. Roman is still sitting there going through my test and writing things down.

"Okay Daisy, you had every right to get frustrated at that question, you want to know why?" He questions me. I tiredly nod letting him know to continue. "Eight times seven doesn't have any time efficient easy tricks on how to solve it. It is one of those things that you just have to know."

I groan again. I think I'm going to punch him. Or someone.

No I won't, I could never put my hands on any of them.

"What's the answer for gods sake?" I ask getting extremely frustrated.

"Fifty-six."

"Fabulous! I'm done with this, thank you Roman for teaching me but I'm going to go sleep in my room!"

With that I leave the kitchen and go to my room bellyflopping on my bed immediately regretting the action because of my stomach.

Stupid belly.

Matteo

Taking a deep breath I knock on the door three times. I wait and wait. The lights are on so I know they are awake. It's nine in the morning and I've been travelling all damn night.

I hear a click and the door swings open revealing a tired James. He smirks at me before motioning me to go inside. Once I am in he pulls me into a hug.

"Nice to see you Matteo."

"Good to see you too, thank you for letting me come here." I thank him pulling away.

Ever since I've known Daisy this is the longest we have ever been apart. I have missed her so damn much and even though we talk everyday whether it be on the phone or by text it's not the same. I want to see her beautiful face.
