CHAPTER TWENTY - GETTING READY

"May I ask why?" I asked and Ayana kept her blinding smile. "To calm some waters and to actually have some good time in the middle of all this chaos."

Kol grinned from his spot. "Drinks, music and looking good, it's perfect."

Niklaus piped up from his spot on one of the couches as he drew. "You are forgetting something very imporant my brother." Kol raised an eyebrow towards Niklaus from the reflection. "Ladies." Niklaus grinned.

"Oh, yeah." Kol mumbled slightly. Elijah and Finn rolled their eyes while Henrik just shook his head with a smile.

I glanced at Kol, who caught my eye from the mirror and suddenly grinned.

"Rebekah, tell me how handsome I am." He said as he looked at himself through the mirror.

"Oh Kol, you know I can't be compelled." She said with a small smirk. "Shake your hand so they dry up." She said to me and I unconsciously shook my hand.

Finn grinned at the small comment and Elijah made some effort not to laugh and covered it up with a small cough.

Henrik didn't care as he chuckled openly with Niklaus. Kol glared at the two and made a offended sound.

"You look very handsome Kol." Ayana said with a fond amused smile and Kol smiled back at her.

He sought my eye while looking at the mirror and I smiled slightly. "You look very handsome." I told him and watched as his eyes lit up.

"Done." Rebekah commented from next to me and I turned to look at her. "Do you like them?" She asked with a smile. I looked down to see my nails painted black on one hand. With a smile I kissed Rebekah on the head and said: "Very much."

She too grinned and turned to look at Niklaus. "Ha! In your face! It doesn't make Father any less masculine even though he has his nails painted." She sassed and Niklaus grunted while keeping his eyes on the drawing in front of him.

Elijah put the shoes he was polishing to the ground and turned to look at me. "You do not have a suit, do you?"

"Oh that is right." Ayana commented with a laugh as I made a playful face of pain.

"Niklaus also needs one." Ayana said and his head snapped to her. "What?"

"You should go with them. Get a new suit." She said and turned back to her journal she was writing on. Niklaus shook his head.

"No! You have seen Elijah while he shops for suits! He is even more worse than Rebekah on her worst days! Ow!" Niklaus said desperately and glared at Rebekah when she threw a nail polish at his head.

Finn and Henrik were laughing at this point and Kol was grinning widely. Elijah looked unimpressed while Ayana and I made some effort not to laugh.

"Niklaus." I said and he glanced at me. I shook my head and he turned back to Elijah.
"I'm sorry brother..." He said with slight difficulty.

Elijah just hummed and turned to look at me. "I trust your fashion eye." I smile at him and Elijah looks at the shoes on the ground with a small smile.

Rebekah gasped suddenly and turned to Ayana. "You don't have a dress!"

Elijah and Rebekah suddenly made eye-contact and nodded at the same time. I glanced at Ayana and both of us playfully pleaded for help with our eyes.

Looks like both of us had to suffer the wrath of the shopaholics.

Ayana, Elijah, Rebekah and I left to shop for our ball clothes while Finn, Henrik, Kol and Niklaus were left to work on the house. That honestly sounded like a true chaos.
