The man in the trenchcoat finally walked over and stated coldly "That 'friend' of yours is a brutal killer who has now murdered many people. Now move away from him." You felt like you were going to get sick. So many emotions cycled through you rapidly. You looked down at Michael again. His face looking relaxed in his unconscious state.
"No. I'm not leaving him. I already lost him once." You stated flatly. The older man standing above your started to shake with rage. "It's not much of a loss to lose him. Now, I will ask you once again to step away from my patient." Your head snapped up as you realized this was his doctor. "You're his doctor and you treat him this way?" You ask him. You look down again and take the sleeve of your shirt and wipe some of the blood and sweat off of his face as a small whimper escapes your lips.
Something silver shined in the light and caught your attention. Your breath hitches when you see he has a gun. The doctor's grip on his revolver tightens as he raises it and points it at the man in your lap. Your eyes grow wide and you start crying again. "What are you doing? Stop!" You shout. But all the doctor can do is say "Move." Through gritted teeth. "NO!" You scream as you lean down and wrap yourself around the defenseless man in your lap. You begin to hear the officers tell him to calm down and lower the weapon. You shake uncontrollably as you continue to shield Michael's body with your own, your tears falling onto his skin. Footsteps could be heard running toward you and a voice shouting "NO!" followed by a gunshot. The sound made you jump and you looked up to see a young officer, barely old enough to be on the police force, with a hold on the doctor's arm and the gun pointed up in the air.
Michael began to regain consciousness, unbeknownst to you. His senses were quick to alert as he heard shouting all around him and felt himself being held tightly by someone. He did not like the feeling and reacted by reaching up and grabbing your throat. You pulled back as he squeezed tighter. "Mich... Michael..." you choked out. He quickly released you and pulled his hand back before the police could even react, his eyes growing wide as he recognized you. You gasped for air and put your hand on your throat. The two of you stared at each other for a moment.

You sit in the bright green grass, a light breeze kissing at your skin. You look down at the young, blonde boy laying his head in your lap and giggle. He looks back at you and quietly asks "(Y/N), do you think we'll always be friends forever?" You smile a big, toothy grin and nod. "Yeah! You'll always be my bestest friend in the whole wide world!" You looked up at the clouds in the sky and thought for a moment. "Maybe even someday, we'll get married." you stated shyly. The boy was quiet so you glanced down again. "Yuck..." he said. His head turned to the side to avoid eye contact with you. His face was bright red. "Aww! Mikey, you're blushing!" you teased.
"Am not!"
"Are too!"
*The voice of the young officer snapped you both out of your thoughts and memories. "You... You're the kid that was his friend, weren't you?" He swallowed before continuing "My... my partner was talking about how he tried to be friends with Michael when they were kids, but he only seemed to care about one person. It's you, isn't it?" The officer clamped his eyes shut when he mentioned his partner. Had something happened to him? Michael was silent, refusing to take his eyes off of you. You nodded cautiously at him. The doctor, seeming to calm down, had a curious look on his face as he quietly watched the two of you. You looked back down at Michael and placed your hand on his cheek. "I missed you, Mikey..." you whispered to him. He leaned into your hand slightly. Although he wouldn't say it out loud, you knew he missed you too.

You sat at the table, nervously bouncing your leg up and down. You wore a sticker on your shirt indicating that you were a visitor. You were at Smith's Grove waiting to see your friend. It had been several months. Your protection of him could only go so far that Halloween night. Eventually, it took several officers to pry the two of you apart. Much like when you were separated as kids, you sobbed and screamed for him. Michael reacted in anger at the officers who handcuffed him and dragged him to the car. But once again, you had to watch as your friend was placed in a car and driving away. You were lucky that you didn't end up in any kind of trouble for interfering with the arrest. You think the officers probably felt like you had gone through enough that night with having a gun pointed at you and nearly being shot.
