"Kyros was. Others not."

She blinked. "Some of them come as grown adults?"

"Some. But not remember where they came from before."

They don't remember falling out of the sky and their life before it... none of it made sense! Once again, Posie groaned and threw herself back on the bed.

"Where Posie from?" She asked him, staring at the ceiling.

"Sky."

At least she knew that much was technically the truth, considering she came in a space pod.

Though he didn't want her to leave this place, there was only one way to show her where he and the book came from. He marched over to the dresser and pulled out some different clothes for her. He held them out for her to take.

".... Are you saying I smell again? Is now really the time for this?" She deadpanned.

He huffed and held them out again. "Trust Kyros."

She narrowed her eyes at him but took the clothes anyway. He left the room and called for her from down the stairs when she was done. He was ready to bring her somewhere. They already ate dinner and he normally didn't carry a massive sword with him when they went out....

A tiny voice in the back of her head told her this is where he takes her into the wilderness and sacrifices her, but for the first time ever, she ignored that voice. He asked her to trust him and that's what she was going to do.

She silently followed him for close to 20 minutes, trekking through the thick jungle. His legs were much longer and stronger then hers, so every step he took was two of hers. Frankly, she was getting quite tired of jogging, but he was too deep in thought to notice.

To make matters worse, it was beginning to rain.

"Kyros, where-" her voice died in her throat at the sight before her.

They were suddenly at the end of the jungle, now in the desert. A few more feet out laid a metal platform, big enough to put a small house on. But that was it. Nothing more. However, if they were now in the desert, that meant her space pod couldn't be far.

"I don't get it...." She trailed off, the rain beginning to muffle her voice from it coming down so hard.

"Where book and Kyros from." He told her, simply.

A blinding light slowly shot from the sky and onto the middle of the platform. Kyros gently pushed her backwards to hide behind a tree to watch from a safe distance within the jungle.

One moment, nothing was there, and when the light went away and she could look again, there was... "a Pegasus?" She breathed, her eyes wide. "Is this a portal?"

It laid on its side, too weak to stand. She watched the rapid rise and fall of it's ribcage with every breath it took. It's pure white fur seemed to glisten in the steady rise of the moonlight, making it appear a light shade of purple.

"Why isn't it standing?" She asked, suddenly worried.

A howl in the distance interrupted her question. The Pegasus scrambled to its feet and Posie gasped at the sight. It's weak legs trembled under its massive body weight and it's damaged wing made it easy prey for any lurking predators. Blood covered the whole left side of its body with not enough skin to stretch over tendons and insides that shouldn't be seen.

"Not all of us make it through." Kyros quietly explained.

The light that transported it here... burned it? Hurt it? Injured it terribly? And babies were sent through here?
