"Where are you going to find a venomous spider in Dayton?"
"The factory, who knows what weird creatures live in that hellhole. Ugh, I'm just now remembering we have to start working there in a few years." You sighed and pretended to pass out dramatically, he chuckled and pated your knee.
"Actually, that's what I wanted to talk about." He waits for you to look at him, he sighs briefly "I don't want to follow the cycle. I don't want to work in a factory, live paycheck to paycheck and die at the age of thirty, I want to live my life, I want to be free." Raymond's voice was the most passionate you ever heard, you looked at him, a look of confusion in your eyes.
"It's impossible Ray, you know this. The Timekeepers are stupid but not stupid enough to let someone from our time zone move up to New Greenwich." Your hair blew with the wind and he stared at you and shook his head.
"It's not impossible, nothing is. It's hard, but I don't want to live this life and I would much rather die trying to escape then have to repeat this same cycle." He looked away and sighed, you moved in closer to him to try to see his face to see how he was feeling. "I don't want to do it alone Y/N/N, I want you to try with me."
"I can't! You know this Ray, I have my mom and dad here, they can't survive without me, once my timer starts I have to work for not only me but them, without me they will die!" You are shocked at his request to join him, he knows your situation so why would he even offer? His blue eyes showed an angered look.
"They are going to die anyways! We have to do this for ourselves, and for our futures!" You have never seen him like this, you put your head on his shoulder to help calm him down.
"Ray....I can't. You are my best friend but this, this is to much. You are going to die and I don't want you to but I know there is nothing I can do to stop you. The things you will have to do to get rich or even think about moving time zones are illegal, the Timekeepers will catch you in a second." You both fell silent after that, you can tell he has made up his mind, you stood up and so did he. The wind stopped blowing and the birds had flown off, you looked at him and he looked back at you, his blue eyes were piercing but he looked sad, he looked back into your E/C eyes and then he kissed you. You could of never predicted it, it was so passionate, like he has been holding it back for a while, or like he knew it was the last time. You were so close to him both of your heart beats could be felt against each other, his lips were like velvet. He pulled away and you looked at him shocked.
"I know you can't go with me, so that was goodbye. Don't ever change Y/N/N." He walked away, you wanted to call out to him, tell him to stop, but you couldn't, you were frozen. The wind picked up, his black hair blew as he walked off into the unknown leaving you behind.
"Don't you ever become one of them Ray!" The wind carried your voice, he paused for a moment, but kept walking. That was the last you saw of Raymond Leon, until now.
___________________________________You are sitting in the chair in shock, you tried to forget him, but now all the memories flow back. The door opens and you see Raymond, he glares at you.
"Times up, have you decided to talk?" His voice is so cold, nothing like how it was.
"Ray...." You say in a voice so soft it is barely audible, you feel very emotional.
"Don't call me that! I already told you that!" He yells, you look at him, he is nothing like how he left, he made it out of Dayton, but what did it cost him?
