THE HARRINGTON SIBLINGS STOOD outside Dustin's door waiting for him to open it. Jayden leaning on the wall beside the door where Dustin couldn't see her.

She heard the door open and heard Dustin walk out "The better Harrington!" he exclaimed when seeing Steve. Jayden walked out from behind the wall revealing herself making Dustin's smile drop "The even better Harrington!" he said in a nervous tone.

"Thanks, Dusty." She smiled at the boy before noticing his hair. "Woah. Woah, woah." Jayden said pointing to the top of his head. "Like it?" Dustin said wiggling his eyebrows. Jayden scoffed shooing the boy "Sure Dusty. I like it. Who are you impressing?" She asked "No one.." Dustin stammered.

Jayden looked the boy up and down before she shrugged and turned around walking to the car "Are we going to this dance or what?" she said as she realized the boys weren't moving from Dustin's front porch.

The two boys began to speed walk down the steps as she took a seat in the passenger sear of Steve's car.

"Boy this is gonna be a long night.."

STEVE DROVE INTO THE parking lot of the school leaning onto his wheel. "Here we are." He said turning to the kids who both wore nervous faces.

"Remember, when you get in there." He said towards Dustin "Pretend like I don't care." Dustin finished.

"How not to get a girl 101." Jayden mumbled opening the car door and stepping out. "Lets go Dusty!" She said opening his door for him but he was checking how he looked in the mirror. "You look great Henderson." Jayden smiled "Yeah! You're gonna go in there looking like a million bucks. And you're gonna slay 'em dead." Steve told the boy trying to boost his confidence

"Like a lion." Dustin said before making the purring sound again. "Maybe don't do that, okay?" Jayden said leaning onto the car door.

Steve gave the boy a high-five wishing him good luck. "Lets go prince charming!" Jayden exclaimed grabbing the boys hand and pulling him out of the car.

The two walked in instantly heading over to a table where Mr. Clarke sat.

"Looking very snazzy to tonight you two." Mr. Clarke smiled "Thank you, my lord." Dustin said in a fancy accent "Thank you." Jayden smiled at the man.

"Looking to impress anyone tonight?" Mr. Clarke asked as he took the money from Jayden's hands replacing it with two tickets. Jaydens face flushed at the question but she just shrugged in response. Dustin doing the same.

"Okay, well, enjoy you're night kiddos." He smiled waving them off to walk into the gym. They looked around at the blue and white decorated gym. Jayden's palms began to sweat seeing the kid filled dance floor.

Dustin took a breath in walking into the crowd with Jayden following him behind. They said a quick hello to Nancy as they passed her.

The two found their friends sitting at a table in the back. Dustin doing a nice spin before grabbing Jayden's hand and spinning the girl.

"Holy shit. What happened to you?" Mike asked mainly towards Dustin who's smile instantly dropped "What do you mean, "What happened"?" the boy asked "Your hair." Max pointed out "Is there a bird nesting in there?" Lucas reached up to touch Dustins hair but Jayden slapped his hand "Stop it, asshole. His hair looks amazing." she said making Lucas back up.

"You okay Will?" Jayden asked the boy quickly just wanting to check up on him. "I'm okay now." He simply said smiling up at the girl "I'm glad." she said pulling him into a side hug.
