[Chapter 14] A Hidden Side Of The Story

"The moment the future changes." Tsuchigomori answered simply before wrapping his hand around one of the three door handles before pulling the door open. "We're here."

"Woah!" I exclaimed as I ran into the room, amazed at all the pretty gems and stones that were encased inside of glass casings. "This is the deepest part of the Boundary?! Wow! It's so pretty! Which one of these is your Yorishiro, Sensei?" I asked excitedly, giddily staring at all the beautiful gemstones.

"No, it's this one." Tsuchigomori corrected, placing down a more simple looking rock that had a seal on it onto a table.

"It's filthy!" I exclaimed immediately in disbelief.

"What are you calling "filthy"?" He fired back, glaring me down before pulling up a chair and sitting in it. "I told you that there were two humans who changed their futures written in their books, right? I got this from one of them." He told me as I picked up the little rock and examined it.

"What kind of stone is this?"

"Oh... It's a moon rock." Tsuchigomori answered genuinely as I stared down at the rock, doubting his claims.

"An imitation?" I sweatdropped.

"No." He answered, before slightly smiling to himself as he thought, "It's genuine. Do you know when humans first travelled to the moon? I was given that rock the day after that historic day."

"The day after? You mean that person was... an astronaut?" I asked him curiously.

"As if. Of course he wasn't." Tsuchigomori scoffed while chuckling, "He was an ordinary human. He loved stars and was a little awkward with words. His grades... weren't great." He reminisced before returning back to our original purpose, "Now, you know how to destroy a Yorishiro?"

I looked up at him, still curious, "How did that person's future change?"

"Well..." He thought, his expression going dark before he stopped himself from continuing, "Hurry up. If we stay here, I'll end up saying more than I should."

Letting out a sigh, I started to peel off the seal on the little rock, pushing away any further questions I still wanted to ask. Tsuchigomori was right, we should get this over and done with first and then I can ask later. I carefully peeled off the seal as the boundary collapsed and a flashing, bright light blinded my eyes and took over my vision.

3rd Person POV:

The date was July 22nd 1969, the day after man had walked on the moon for the first time. It was after school, most students had gone home for the day except for one, a single boy and his homeroom teacher sat alone in an empty classroom. The teacher was tending to the boy's wounds that were on his arms as the older man heaved out a sigh.

"Won't you come out and tell me already?" He asked the younger, clearly fed up as he cleaned his wounds with a cotton bud. "Every single day... Who's doing this to you..." Tsuchigomori paused what he was doing as he looked up to stare at the boy, "Yugi?"

Amane Yugi ignored his teacher's gaze, refusing to meet his eyes as he awkwardly sat there in an uncomfortable silence and allowed his teacher to patch up his wounds.

His teacher let out a chuckle, slightly amused by his stubbornness as he placed down the cotton bud and grabbed some bandages, "You still won't tell me? You've been like this since first year. Your bruises don't fade. You only have one friend. You cut class." He listed as he wrapped the bandages around his right arm.

Amane remained silent, taking interest in his bandaged arm as he lifted it up to his face to stare at it. Tsuchigomori glared at the boy, an irk mark forming on his forehead.
