"That's awesome! I'll be sure to text my dad's about tonight so they know where I am!"
"Same here!" Gus could be heard on Willow's end as well. They must have been already hanging out before hand.
"Great! Just be sure not to come through the front door." Luz stated with a simple smile, not thinking too keen as to what she had just instructed her friends to do on their arrival.
"Huh?" Willow and Gus said collectively. Suddenly, it hit Luz like a on-the-loose staff. What's she supposed to tell her friends where to go! Think quick Luz, think!
"U-Uhm," Luz had said, trying to keep her cool and calm composure she believes she had this entire time. Amity would say otherwise. "Meet me at my window when you get here, a-and I will bring you up through there. So we don't get seen. By Hooty. Heh." Luz had explained over the phone. Now, her hand was slightly shaking and Amity caught notice of this, though she snickered a little which earned her a look from Luz. That only made her want to laugh even more.
"I give up." Amity admitted under her breath for only Luz to hear as she started to laugh in her hand, still not wanting to disrupt the phone call. Luz just kept looking at her with a cranky face as her face flushed a deep red of embarassment. Amity thought she looked adorable while being a terrible liar.
"Uh, why not just the door?" Willow had asked through the phone, curious as to why the door was an issue in itself to go through. "Is Hooty sick or... something?" Willow asked with a tone that sounded like she was second guessing herself. "I don't know, is that how that door works?"
"It's-!" Luz started out, blanking on where she should go next with what she had. What do they do with a building that needs repairs? Hmm... Oh! "I-It's being... renovated...?" Luz said outloud, realizing how silly she probably sounded as she tried her damned hardest to convince her friends not to come round the Owl House at the front of the building. If Hooty saw them, it'd be over before they even stepped foot in this place! She turned to look at Amity as if Amity would give her reassurance on her statement and that it was really convincing. All she got was a giggly Amity who's face was now red due to the amount of laughing she is going through. She's almost crying of laughter.
"Oh... cool! Alright, well we'll see you then, Luz!" Gus exclaimed through the fun, both him and Willow being more excited than ever at the moment to be spending the night over at Luz's. It feels like it's been forever since they all had a proper hangout session.
"Yup, goodbye! Hehe, see you by... six!" Luz said frantically as she hurried up to roll up her scroll, ending the call.
"You messed up." Amity said with a chuckle in her voice.
"Oh god I messed up." Luz said, deadpanned, as she realized all the stuff she had just said to her friends. Blatant lies. But, she had this under control! ...right?
"Mhm."
"Why did I agree to this? What was I thinking?! Oh gosh what if we get caught? Then they won't be able to come back for sure!" Luz said as she panicked, pacing around the room which was making Amity somewhat anxious too. She did her best to relish in the situation a little that Luz was getting herself into, but she knew she couldn't be too lax about it too.
"Oh come on you don't know that. For all we know, Eda might not care that much-" Amity finally decided to admit, not wanting to scare Luz as bad as she is already. It was Eda the Owl Lady they were talking about!
"But she does! She just won't let this slide!" "Ugh, what am I doing?" Luz was panicking, and to Amity's dismay, more than usual. It was a bit concerning, but she knew Luz was probably just overthinking the entire situation if anything.
