8. Struck by the Arrow

"Okay, where do we go from here?" – Asked Mack unsure

"He has an hemothorax and blood in his chest cavity, we need to stop the bleeding and drain it" – said Jason – "pass me the scalpel, we need to cut into the wound to see what we're doing" – he ordered and Piper passed him the tool

"Are you sure the dose of anesthesia we used will work?" – Asked Mack

"Yeah, it will buy us enough time to get the bullet out and clean the wound" – said Jason as he started to cut the wounded area of the bearded male

Even Mack and Piper weren't so sure about what to do, Jason was easy to work with and very reassuring giving he seem to know the direction they are supposed to follow during the operation, so the work was going very smooth for them

"You both have mean furrowed brows" – stated Piper while Jason worked with Mack's help on Deke – "is that about our patient?" – She asked to the Korean male who looked at her for a moment annoyed before looking down at what he was doing – "okay...then can I take this chance to say that I'm sorry about Yo-Yo?" – She asked looking at Mack – "if I hadn't let Hale-" – she started to say

"No, don't do that, you made a mistake" – assured Mack

"Yeah, a big mistake" – said Piper – "like, how do you even begin to make up for something like that?" – She added

"You already are doing it, coming back and doing the right thing, even if capturing Hale backfired, you are-" – started to explain Jason but stopped once the heart monitor beeped rapidly – "No, no, no, no, no, no" – he repeated

"What's happening, what do we do?" – Asked Mack

"The bullet's in there and must've nicked an artery" – said Jason as he looked for the source and he found it taking the bullet of finally – "yes!" – He said as he put it away

"Now you just have to clamp the artery before his blood pressure drops any more" – said Piper to the former resident doctor

"Did not think I'd be doing this today" – said Mack as he helped Jason work faster

"Thank god the anesthesia I found on the storage was strong enough to not wake him up through that" – said Jason while the beeping of the machine slowed down

"Okay, he's stabilize" – said Piper

"Nice" – said Mack extending his hand for the other male to high-five him

"We're gonna have to wait to high-five, we still need to sew his artery shut so he doesn't bleed out and die" – said Jason

"Oh...right, I knew...that" – said Mack while the other two agents shared a look

"Let's just finish the work, I feel uneasy" – said Jason

"Why?" – Asked Mack

"There is a saying for anybody on the medical field, that you can't or more like is highly recommended for you not to work with anybody that could be close to you" – explained Jason as he started to sew Deke's artery

"You can't possibly feel that close to him so fast" – said Piper

"I tried not to, but is hard to pull away when you are struck by cupid's arrow" – said Jason with a smile under his face mask as he kept working

"That was so cheesy dude, even for you" – complained Piper – "but anyway, you should tell him how you feel before the end of the world" – she stated

"I want to, I just don't know how to, last boyfriend I had was in college before I even got to set a foot in a hospital" – said Jason

"Just talk through your feelings and be honest" – said Mack
