I give a little smile, satisfied with his answers. "I love you." I repeat it back to him for the first time.
Alex blinks, not expecting me to say it back. But he smiles. "You do?" He asks, like he doesn't believe me.
I nod. "I do." I'm not sure why it took me so long to realize I love him back, but I'm glad I eventually did.
I lean forward and put my hand on the side of his face, kissing his lips softly. Alex still has a soft smile on his face when I pull away. "Any more questions?" He asks.
I'm quick to nod which makes Alex chuckle. "At the wedding, you and Natalia walked away to dance—" Alex cuts me off with a groan which makes me laugh. "Don't worry, I just want to know what that conversation was about." I giggle.
Alex looks confused. "What conversation?" He mumbles.
I sigh, realizing he probably doesn't remember because of his alcoholic tendencies. "You and Natalia had a conversation while you were dancing. You and her both looked at me and you nodded at something she said. What was it?" I remind him of the scenario.
Alex takes a second to figure out what I'm talking about. I don't expect him to remember it, he was drunk. "I think it was about you." He mumbles, squinting as he says it.
I smile. "Me? Ooh, do tell." I tease. I looked like an absolute train wreck towards the end of that night, it was most likely about my hair that was starting to fall out of the nice bun I'd put it in.
Alex shakes his head. "She said something. I couldn't tell you what exactly it was for the life of me, but it was about you. And I told her..." He trials off and looks up at the ceiling as he thinks. He quietly chuckles. "Told her I was in love with you." He mutters, looking back at me.
I perk up, pleasantly surprised. "Oh, so you weren't gossiping about my messy hair." I smile.
"Oh, no. We were definitely talking about that as well." He acts serious. I scoff and push his shoulder, Alex laughs in response. He shakes his head. "No." He says. "No, we were talking about you and Natalia asked..." He trails off. "She asked me if I loved you and I nodded." He casually shrugs. No big deal. He just loves me.
I sigh. "I wish you told me that when I'd asked you.." I mumble. Maybe all of this would've happened sooner. Maybe.
Alex nods. "Me too." He admits. His grip on my back tightens and he reaches out with his other hand to grab me and pull me onto his lap. "Maybe then I would've been able to hold you like this sooner." He mumbles as he pulls me down into a bit of a deeper kiss. "And kiss you like this." He speaks against my lips as he kisses me again.
A shiver skitters down my spine as he kisses a trail down to my neck. I tilt my head back for him. One of his hands raises to rest on the back of my neck while the other stays on my hip. A sigh escapes my throat as he kisses me there. "Alex," I breathe, leaning into his touch a little more than I should be.
Alex doesn't answer me. Instead, he pulls away which is not what I wanted. I frown in protest, hoping he'll go back to our original position.
I learned a few weeks ago that Alex hates it when I frown for whatever reason. If I frown, he'll explain his reasoning for whatever he's done or—more likely—he'll do whatever I wish.
"Don't frown at me." Alex orders.
My frown deepens in response.
Alex pulls me down into a deep kiss which completely wipes the frown off my face. Though, a little bit of it comes back when he pulls away quicker than I'd like him to.
