" Oh, Oh, show you what it feels like now I'm on the outside, we did everything right now I'm on the outside!" We sung before the beat dropped. Drowning in the deep blue lights we partied the night away before another school year set in motion.
Before the night spiraled into darkness, I shared a relatively innocent kiss with 6th year Kurtis Dewitt, a sweet and polite Ravenclaw boy. We laughed it off and assured it wouldn't cause any drama on either side. It made for a interesting start to fifth year though.
The last thing I remembered was some Hufflepuff guy doing a body shot off of Maes stomach. This school never ceases to surprise me.
...
" Isla. Isla! Merlin, I should've just come with them last night. What else could I expect from this trio." I heard Raidon's voice mumble with displeasure.
I already knew there was a little smile on his face.
" Don't be jealous Mae, Killian and I are more fun then you Raidon." I spoke sleepily. Before I could stand I was swiftly lifted up by Raidon's arms. I rolled my eyes.
" Sir I'm awake, no need to man handle me." That was one of my pet peeves. Blame it on my ego. He set my body back down, but hesitated before taking his hands from my shoulders, making sure I was stable.
I shuffled over to the couch where Killian and Mae lay. His head was slumped over the couch back in an uncomfortable angle. Hand resting on Mae's head, which lay in his lap, as her legs were barely hanging onto the couch.
As if the universe heard my thoughts, her legs fell from the cushions, dragging the rest of her body with her. She landed on the floor with an almost graceful roll. Killian stirred as he begun to notice her body missing. To be honest they'd make the cutest couple. A power couple, but cute as Merlin.
" Morning." I spoke simply.
" I didn't make out with anyone did I?" Killian questioned, morning voice and all. Mae turned her head to glare at him as I laughed lightly.
" No. But that reminds me Isla here sure did." Mae teased raising her brows. Killian had a similar reaction, both sporting a newly formed cheeky smile.
I laughed at their antics before explaining myself." No guys, it was nothing like that. It was a simple drunk kiss between me and Kurtis Drewitt. We laughed it off and he's super chill with it. Makes for a fun story though." I laughed with them. I looked over at Raidon who looked more annoyed then anything. He's always been protective, I appreciate him for that, but it's not necessary 24/7.
" Glad you had some fun, he's a nice dude." Killian commented.
" And he's cute. Solid pick girl." Mae added with a wink as I laughed at her. We began gathering our things, along with the other partygoers who had mostly woken up. Heading out, I was glad it was Sunday.
Despite drinking half my weight in Firewhisky and Vodka I only had a light headache. I was blessed with hardly any hangover symptoms, and a high alcohol tolerance. My soul sister on the other hand...
I trailed my eyes over to Mae who was slumped up against Killian. She kept missing steps. Killian picked her up and proceeded to bridal carry her down the stairs as to prevent any injury. I smiled as we made our way back to Gryffindor tower.
While we walked down the corridors of Hogwarts, we ran into Nagini and Sean, pulling them along. Our full numbers now filled up the hall as the loud group finally arrived at Gryffindor tower.
Once inside, Killian set Mae down on one of the red couches, ruffling her hair for extra measure. She smacked his hand away and I chuckled. She's just fine. The others made their way to a seat and before long we were chatting around the fire.
" Can you guys believe it's fifth year already? It feels like we got sorted yesterday." Nagini spoke with a sad smile as we all began reflecting on the last 4 years.
" Time flies when your having fun." I replied with a little smile. Though if I'm being honest I don't think I could reflect as fondly if I hadn't found the group that's surrounded me since day 1.
" Dear Diary, I was shaking in my robes, so many faces starred at me as a dusty old hat sat atop my head. But I couldn't name any as I starred back. Will I be lonely forever?" Killian joked dramatically as he acted out our first year perspectives. We laughed shaking our heads.
" Just think, if I hadn't ran into Isla, who was caught by Raidon, who caught the attention of Mae and Killian, and who worried Nagini, the lot of us may never have been friends." Sean recalled as we all realized what a mess that was.
The most beautiful domino effect I've ever seen.
We rode out the weekend, recovering from last nights party and resting up for classes tomorrow. I was beyond happy with my time table this year.
Ancient Runes, History of Magic, Defense against the dark arts, charms, potions, care of magical creatures, transfiguration, herbology and finally astronomy at night with Professor Evangeline Eclipse littered my time table. All were interesting classes so at least I'd enjoy the copious schooling hours over the year.
Eventually, as twilight approached, Sean, Nagini, and Mae made their way back to the Hufflepuff and Slytherin dorms. I bid goodnight to Raidon and Killian and made my way upstairs in hopes of getting a good night sleep to start my year off.
