"I've pictured this moment so many times...the only difference is that the roles were reversed. I didn't see this coming. Next time," he coughed and spat the blood that was in his mouth at the side.
"There won't be the next time Kyle," Jacob said.
"Oh please, we both know you won't kill me, coward," he said as he struggled to get to his knees.
Out of breath, he said, "I am... your ex-mates brother. You won't kill me. You can't,"
"Your wrong Kyle. I can kill you. For starting a war with my pack I could kill you right where you stand," then there was a moment of silence. I a moment where the pack truly questioned if their Alpha was actually going to kill the last person closest to his deceased mate.
"But I won't. Surrender Kyle. You are outnumbered and overpowered. You've lost this fight,"
"I -" Kyle trailed off saying. Having everyone on edge. The pack, hopeful, that this was the final moment before they could go home to their loved ones, and the rogues, fearful, of going back into the shadows to live out the rest of their days. Everyone, clouded in their own thoughts not realize that Kyle pulled out a deadly weapon from behind him. A blade that reflected its purple light, indicating that it was laced with wolfsbane. The weapon that Lisa warned him about.
"I-" he continued as he slowly made his way towards Jacob once more. Once he was finally close enough he look Jacob in the eye before saying, "I will NEVER surrender to you," he spat before pulling out the weapon from behind his back and aiming it at Jacob's naked abdomen. "Look out," Lisa shouted from across the field when she saw that Kyle had the blade.
But Jacob had already caught Kyle's hand, preventing him from doing much damage. Jacob twisted Kyle's hand forcing him to face the blade himself. Kyle's eyes reflect terror.
"Goodbye Kyle," was the last thing he said before he used his werewolf strength and stabbed him in his chest with his very own weapon. Immediately, the color drained from his skin and was replaced with pale grey.
Jacob dropped Kyle's body on the field and looked up at the remaining rogues who didn't know what to do at the moment. They didn't know whether to run or to actually surrender to the pack. But the pack made the decision for them as they surrounded the remaining rogues before they could think about escaping.
"The battle is over. Your leader has fallen. Surrender or suffer the same fate as him," Jacob told the remaining rogues and without hesitation, they fell to their knees in fear.
The warriors felt hopeful. The battle was over. They could return to the rest of the pack victorious. Their families would be overjoyed.
"I wouldn't celebrate just yet love," Miranda said as I approach them with Kyle's witch unconscious. "The worse is yet to come," she said but everyone's attention was fixed on the unconscious witch on the ground. "She's not dead if that's what your thinking," she replied. Some chuckled at her sense of humor, some didn't.
"He's here," she said as she was no longer looking at the pack but behind them.
"It can't be," Ellie whispered, more to herself, with widened eyes. "I can't believe he's real," Lisa said.
There in the center of the clearing 10 feet away from the pack itself, was the presumed dead, Iron Fist. "Believe it," Ellie replied to her sister as her facial expression changed into a more deadly one.
"Everyone to the pack house now!" Jacob yelled at the warriors and the rogues and without hesitation, they all made their way to the pack house where Miranda cast her wards up to form a protective shield. One that she was certain a Destroyer of Worlds couldn't penetrate.
The battle between Kyle and Jacob was in fact the battle of the century. A battle that they won with very few casualties. But this was a war. Suddenly the warriors lost all hope. They know who the Destroyer is. It goes without saying the least.
This IS the fight for not just their lives, but the fight of many. The fight of all supernatural creatures alike as they know that there are no limits to Iron Fist's wrath.
Now with the stench of their fear and hopelessness, they prepared for battle one more time. Only this time it wasn't a battle, it was war. A war with no backup or assistance.
They were all alone
